Darling Diva Polish: The Opal Collection - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

DARLING DIVA POLISH
The opal COLLECTION

Tonight I have a wonderful new flaky collection from Darling Diva Polish called The Opal Collection.

The Opal Collection is made up of 7 new shades of jelly flakies that can be layered or worn alone. In order to suspend the flakes and iridescent glitters and holo shimmer goodness, they are a bit thicker than a regular topper, which is why they build to opacity in 2 to 3 coats (most in 2 coats) and I would recommend layering the lighter shades (Opal and Blue Opal). I had no issues with formula or application on any of them! You will need to excuse my ravaged cuticles though. When "winter weather" actually makes it to South Texas my cuticles are the first thing to revolt.

Continued after the jump...

Opal - This one is basically a clear-based flake polish so I wouldn't attempt to layer it on my stained nails but I bet it would work if you have white nails. I've used one coat over black, white and a skittles mani using Nails Inc. Tudor Way, my violet franken, black creme and Kiko Granite Grey #327. One coat of top coat for each.

Rose Opal - This one is a bright violet pink and I've worn it alone with 2 coats for opacity and one coat of top coat.

Here is a comparison with it alone in 2 coats and with one coat over a plain black creme...

Black Opal  - I have this one alone with 2 coats and top coat and over a plain black creme with one coat and a top coat.

Violet Opal - I've used 2 coats of this one alone with top coat and then over black.

And here you can see it over black (one coat) on the middle and pinkie fingers...

Sea Moss Opal - I've worn this one alone with 2 coats and top coat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blue Opal -  This one was one of the more sheer ones so I've layered one coat over Sinful Colors Tidal Wave with one coat of top coat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Teal Opal - I've worn this one alone with 2 coats and one coat of top coat. I would wear this one with 3 light coats next time. It looked fully opaque in two until I saw the photos. They're so unforgiving!

Well there you have them! What do you think? Favorites? I think this is my first time trying jelly flakies that can be worn alone and I like! My favorites were Opal and Rose Opal. Yours? The extra holo shimmer/micro-glitter or whatever it is really makes it come alive and it's hard to capture in photos.
