Above the Curve Holiday 2013 - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

Above the Curve
Holiday 2013 Collection

I previewed this collection on my Facebook page a few days ago because I just couldn't wait. This collection is made of of 5 holos/shimmers and one full-on Christmas circle glitter bomb.

Continued after the jump...

Crimson Time at Home is a gorgeous violet purple with a tightly scattered holo. Perfect formula and application. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holly, Mistletoe and Trees That Glow is a cool-toned green scattered holo shimmer. No issues with formula or application. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos. This one is a smidge less opaque than Crimson Time at Home so I'd probably go for 3 light coats next time.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poinsettia for Mom is a glowing red holo with an orange/coral arc and it's just beautiful. No issues at all with formula or application on this one either. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's Snow Place Like Home is a semi-textured white with iridescent micro-glitters and this one is SO much prettier in person than my photos show. I'm showing it here with top coat but it can be worn without top coat for a semi-textured finish. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yule Be Home for the Holidays is a deep plum shade with gold/copper shimmer and micro-flakes throughout. Stunning. Formula and application were perfect as well. Two coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Merry & Bright is a full-on glitter bomb of various sizes and colors of circular glitters in a clear base.

Over Holly, Mistletoe and Trees That Glow...

Over There's Snow Place Like Home...

Over Yule Be Home for the Holidays...

And in my package, I received a packet of loose Christmas glitters to play with...

  3. Sadly this post only reinforces why I don't bother with "indie" polish. You find something that interests you and shock of all shock it's not available.

    1. I certainly understand this. I'd love to support indie brands more, but it can be very disappointing when some polishes are so hard to get, and restocks aren't sufficient.

    2. This is understandable. However, I have tons of indie polish that I love that wasn't hard to get. I just don't bother with the ones that are hard to get. KBShimmer has a lot of variety, good quality, and is readily available. Some others are Darling Diva Polish, Colores de Carol. I love to buy A England, Hare Polish, and Cadillacquer from llarowe.com. On etsy.com, I like Smitten Polish, Literary Lacquers, Neener Neener Nails. Just to name a few.
