Literary Lacquers
The Community Collection

Last night I showed you my collaboration shade from this collection, 84 Charing Cross Road, but tonight I have all ten for you! When Amy asked me and other bloggers, fans and friends to create a shade with her I KNEW that this collection would be tremendously amazing. And, as usual, I was right!

So let's get started!

Continued after the jump...

Here is a brief description from the maker of each of these shades I'll be showing you:

84, Charing Cross Road - Sepia holo with silver glass fleck, designed by Sheila of Pointless Cafe (that's ME!!!)

As the Waltz Was Ending - Light purple crelly holo, designed by Lacey of My Boyfriend Hates Makeup

Camille Sepharial D'Artigo - Blurple base with silver and black holo glitter and a teal shift, designed by Courtney of Phyrra.net

Goodnight Moon - Twilight blue jelly sandwich in a bottle with holo sparkle, silver glitter and blue and silver moons, designed by Tami of The Manicured Mermaid

Love You Forever - Medium blue crelly holo, designed by Crisdee Luna Michie

My Red Hair - Color shifting shimmer orange through copper into red, designed by Debbie of The Crumpet

Phenomenal Woman - Burgundy to purply shifty holo, designed by Jen  of Musings of the Wife of a Jedi

Shift of Fate - Green to gold shifty holo, designed by Olivia of Morning Nailspiration

Sidewalk's End - Sidewalk grey holo with multicolored glass fleck, designed by LA Salzy

Thermodynamics - Pinky-red jelly with blue glass fleck, designed by Sparkly Vernis

And on to the swatches. All polishes are shown with 3 light coats and one coat of top coat for the photos except where otherwise noted. I didn't have any issues with any of the polishes as far as ease of application at all. My Red Hair seemed to give me the most difficulty with formula but after speaking with the maker, she is remedying that before these launch tomorrow. You will see in the swatches that the holo micro-glitters seemed to sit on top of the polish rather than suspend inside it. The new formula should remedy that.

84, Charing Cross Road - 3 light coats with top coat

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the Waltz was Ending - 3 light coats with top coat

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Camille Sepharial D'Artigo - 3 light coats alone with top coat (this one can be layered for more opacity but it's not necessary)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Goodnight Moon - I used two coats of this one layered over As the Waltz was Ending and the glitters all came out nicely - no fishing - and laid perfectly flat on the nail. With top coat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Love You Forever - 3 light coats with no top coat

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Red Hair - this is the one whose formula is being tweaked before the launch - it will still look the same but the glitters will be suspended inside rather than sitting on top like the photos. It really is much prettier in person than I could photograph it. It's a slight duo-chrome - orange to red to golden orange.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phenomenal Woman - 3 light coats with top coat

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shift of Fate - 3 light coats with no top coat

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sidewalk's End - I layered one coat of this one over a plain grey creme (Pure Ice Kiss Me Here)

I did a quick gradient with black and grey on the index finger before I wore this as a full mani (and I wish I'd done all ten like that!)...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thermodynamics - I layered 2 coats of this one over a plain pink creme (Zoya Shelby) with one coat of top coat.

And just to see how it looked over something else, I layered it over the same grey creme I used for Sidewalk's End here. I'm going to try it over a navy blue next - this one really pops over a myriad of colors bringing out the blue/lilac-tinted iridescented micro-flakes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you even believe how stunning these are? So what do you think? Your favorites? It's a difficult choice to pick favorites because I really did quite like all of them. Mine of course LOL! But...I think As the Waltz was Ending and Thermodynamics would have to be my top two favorites of the rest of them. And Sidewalk's End. GAH! Hard to choose! Before I tried them, Thermodynamics wasn't even in the running for top 3 and it blew me away! I pretty much nailed the others I thought I would love.

The launch of The Community Collection is scheduled for Monday, November 25th at noon Mountain (that's 1 pm Central) and you can purchase individually for $10 each OR as a set for $90 - like getting one free! Available at her Etsy shop here. You can also follow on Facebook here to stay up-to-date on the goings-on over at Literary Lacquers.

  4. I'm sure I'm in the minority as I was getting to be SO over holos...then I see Phenomenal Woman and Shift of Fate. Must-haves! My Red Hair is a gorgeous shade. So what is showing is the glitter rising to the top and not bubbles? Would you say it is brushstroke-y? Would love to pick up MRH too but I'm a little nervous about the formula.

    1. It's not brushstroke-y at all but yeah those are not bubbles. However, I've dealt with this maker a lot - she's really great - and she addressed my issue immediately so I have confidence that it won't be an issue with any she sends out to customers. And the shade is so gorgeous.

    2. Your word is good enough for me - thank you! I ordered 4 LL polishes today, one of which is My Red Hair. In the description: 'glass fleck.' Had to have it! Can't wait to receive the order.
