Chanel Azure 657 - Swatches and Review

Personal Collection
*Cruelty Free status in Question

Good afternoon! Right now I have one of the newer Chanel releases to show you - 657 Azure (not to be confused with 465 Azur).

Chanel 657 Azure

Azure 657 is part of their L'été Papillon De Chanel Summer 2013 Collection and is described by Chanel as a “metallic blue green” and that's a pretty good description. It's a DUOCHROME! It shifts from a paler, green-leaning teal to a deep but bright blue. Application and formula were good on this one. It's self-leveling and actually almost completely streak-free. I used two easy coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos.

Ozotic 746 - Swatches and Review

Press Sample
*This product is Cruelty Free

Tonight I have another Ozotic polish for you - this time it's one from the 700 series of duochromes. Ozotic 746.

Ozotic 746 is a bright barbie pink polish with a strong blue shimmer/shift and it can be worn alone or layered. First, I used 3 light coats alone on my thumb to show you how it looks on it's own. Then, for my full mani, I wore it layered over black. No issues to report with formula or application.

Alone...

Indigo Bananas Pan - Swatches and Review

Good morning! I'm torn today. I'm showing you a gorgeous polish but it's the last of the three Indigo Bananas I have for you for now. Pan.

First, here's what the Andrea, the genius behind Indigo Bananas, had to say about Pan:

"O goat-foot God of Arcady!
This modern world is grey and old,
And what remains to us of thee?"
- Oscar Wilde

Pan is a golden-green / olive duochrome with scattered holographic glitter, shifting a true green, and green-blue at sharp angles. Opaque in three coats.

Base color: olive
Shifts: olive / green-gold / green-blue
Finish: duochrome foil with holographic glitter
Roughness: very slightly gritty
# coats: three solo, or one as top coat
Top Coat: recommended
Size: 15ml
Vegan & cruelty free, 3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free)

Pan went on smoothly and I've used three light coats for the photos with no top coat. No issues to report with formula or application. This one is more a duo-chrome than the multi-chromes I've shown you in Anansi and Wednesday but this one has scattered holographic glitter.

What do you think of this one? I did apply a top coat later but the texture and look of it without was probably my favorite.

Monday...AGAIN. Bah. However, I do have a great polish to cheer you: Glitter Gal Mystic Lake.

Mystic Lake is a semi-transparent, very strong duo-chrome polish and I've layered it over black for full effect. One coat over a plain black creme. No top coat. Application was smooth and easy and I had no issues at all. It's a stunner!

Glitter Gal Beetle Wings - Swatches and Review

Happy Saturday! This morning I have a recent Glitter Gal offering to show you - Beetle Wings!

Beetle Wings is a duochrome polish that morphs from teal to blue to purple. You could probably wear this one on its own with no problems, but I almost always layer my duochromes. Usually over black or a dark coordinating color. This time, I layered Beetle Wings over a dark navy. I had no issues at all with application or formula - it was perfect. I used one coat over a dark navy and no top coat for the photos below. There are lots of photos because, well it's a duochrome!

Paint Box Polish: Son of a Nutcracker and Solstice

More holiday polishes, you say? No problem! Today I have 2 more to show you. These are from Paint Box Polish. Don't know if you remember, but I did a review on a couple from her first collection called Gryffindor and Slytherin here. Loved them.

AND I have a 20% off code at the end of the post!

Son of a Nutcracker is a fun, green jelly polish packed with green flakies and a hint of red ones. The Fraternal twin to Santa's Britches, which I don't have yet. It looks great  alone and layered over other polishes. I had no issues with application at all. I've layered one coat over a plain black creme on all but the ring finger where I used 3 coats of it alone. No top coat for the photos. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE FLAKES?

Solstice is a purple duochrome polish that shifts to bright blue and features violet flakies. Same formula as son of a Nutcracker. Smooth application. No issues at all. I've used this one alone (3 coats) on all but the ring finger where I've layered one coat over a plain black creme. No top coat.
