a-England Tristam - Swatches and Review

While I'm waiting on a-England's The Legends Collection, I decided to wear Tristam, from their Mythicals Collection.  But somehow I ended up with a rather odd combo mani of Tristam and Lady of The Lake. I swear I can't decide which one I like the best.

I've already reviewed Lady of the Lake here, but other than the color, I really haven't much else to say. The formula and application are the same. Creamy and smooth and just a dream. Full opacity in two coats (although some talented people may be able to make this a one-coater.)  Tristam is a fabulous medium to dark blue with holographic shimmer. I'd say this is as close as you can get to a linear holo with out being full-on linear. I certainly think it's more than a scattered holo.

I took lots of photos trying to capture their beauty and I was only partially successful. Here are the best of the bunch. I even tossed in a couple of blurred out ones so you can see the shimmer. ♥

As always, I try to take photos in various lighting, never with a flash though, and I don't use a topcoat for the swatches so you can see the actual finish. Most of the time, I don't do any clean-up. That's one of the things I look at when viewing swatches - how easy was it to apply? You can usually tell if a lot of cleanup is needed that the brush might not be great or the formula is too thick or too thin. In these photos, there is a tiny bit of cleanup needed, but that's more due to the cold meds I'm on rather than the brush or formula.

First, Tristam alone...

I just almost can't contain my excitement for The Legends Collection! The swatches I've seen so far are amazing. If they can top these, Adina is a genius.

You can get a-England polishes directly from their site for around $14 USD plus shipping from the UK or from Leah Ann at Llarowe for around $12 plus shipping from the US. The Mythicals are available, but The Legends aren't up as I write this - they should be just any day now, though!
