Friday the 13th Post - Pure Ice Risk Taker!

Boo!

*giggle*

Okay, so I'm not the least bit superstitious, in spite of my Scots/Irish heritage. Heck, I'll walk under a ladder, open an umbrella indoors, etc. Even my house number has a FOUR in it! *gasp*! If anything, I'm going to chose to believe that Friday the 13th is my LUCKY day! I do everything else backwards, why not this? But a LOT of people are. And this year, 2012, we have three Fridays that fall on the 13th...January, April and July.

An estimated 17 to 21 million people in the US are affected by a fear of this day, making it the most feared day and date in history, according to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute. Some people are so paralyzed by fear that they avoid their normal routines in doing business, taking flights or even getting out of bed. "It's been estimated that $800 to $900 million is lost in business on this day," according to John Roach, National Geographic News, back in 2004. The fear of the number thirteen is called triskaidekaphobia and specifically, the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia. I can't even pronounce those!

If you are one of those 17 to 21 million, call in scared, polish your nails and order lots of stuff online! Go ahead. You know you want to!

So what polish am I showing you today?  How about Pure Ice RISK TAKER? Seems appropriate, no?

Pure Ice Risk Taker is a shimmery taupe metallic that can look bronze or even silver in some lighting or with some clothing. It's pretty cool, actually. It also has multi-colored micro shimmer sprinkled generously throughout, giving it a little more interest. I've used two coats of color and no top coat for these photos.

Actually, Friday the 13th may NOT be lucky for me. I see that I've missed some stray polish that didn't get cleaned up on my cuticle. Oops!

Pure Ice polishes are available at Walmart for $1.97 each or on BariCosmetics website for $3.97.
