Kiko Sugar Mat Collection - Part 2 of 4 - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

As promised, I'm back with part 2 of 4 posts showing you the 16 new polishes in the Kiko Sugar Mat Collection!

Continued after the jump...

As I stated when I did the quick one-finger swatches, my first impression was that I loved them because the formula was great on all of them - two coats, just a minute or so dry time between coats. No top coat of course. I did no clean up at all and was extra pleased that they weren't messy to apply.

After wearing them, my impressions haven't changed. As is the nature of any textured polish (and with my tendency toward picking at things) the edge of the nail is somewhat rough no matter what I do, so I take a light buffer to the edge to knock off any little bits that hang off the edge. Even with that, I really didn't have tip wear.

The formulas were the same on all of them. There are 8 "cremes" - Full Matte and 8 "shimmers" - Pearly Matte. These second 4 are the last of the "cremes."

Have you tried the "textured" polishes yet? I've reviewed a few mainstream textures and even an indie texture line and these are comparable, but with a wider variety of color choice. I think my favorites were the neon sands from Red Dog Designs - but these aren't bad! Kiko is one of my favorite brands, so I'm pleased that these didn't disappoint. The red (632) is my favorite of these so far - it's such a bright, cool red. The taupe (638) is my favorite of these four. And now I'm thinking what sort of cool mani I could do with the red and the taupe!

  3. My favorites are the shimmer ones, specially 642 and 643 :) Sheila, I just would like to point out that this collection was LE and is no longer available. Well, there's some shades in stores (the matte ones) but it's almost gone. Kisses :)

    1. Cristina thanks! Kiko is mostly sold out - but we can't get Kiko here in the US. But Ninja Polish is stocking these - the entire collection - very soon and because they're LE I didn't want anyone to miss out.
