Zoya Satin Collection for Fall 2013 - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

Are you ready for Fall? Well I live in South Texas so I'm PAST ready. Tonight I have the Zoya Satin Collection for FALL 2013 to show you and I'm loving the Fall colors. And if you like these just wait until you see the Cashmere Collection! I think I might have drooled a little. They're all cremes and I'm such a sucker for a great creme.

The Satin Collection consists of 5 metallic shades and a clear-based gold flake topper.

Continued after the jump...

Descriptions are from Zoya with my thoughts added after:

Channing (ZP691) - Rust Red Copper Metallic - Full Coverage.

I would call this a rusty orange metallic. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. No issues to report with formula or application.

Mason (ZP692) - Red Violet “Fandango Pink” Metallic - Full Coverage (Originally designed for Zang Toi/SS13).
Perfect color description on this one. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. No issues to report with formula or application.

Claudine (ZP690) - Meteorite Gray Metallic - Full Coverage.
I would describe this one as a metallic silver/slate grey with strong olive green undertones. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. No issues to report with formula or application other than it's a little brush-strokey. But not enough to bother me.

Zoya Claudine

Neve (ZP679) - Sapphire Blue Metallic - Full Coverage (Originally designed for Zang Toi/AW13).
I would describe this one as a purple-leaning sapphire metallic. If you look closely at this one, you can see how gorgeous it really is with the different colored micro-shimmer. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. No issues to report with formula or application.

Giovanna (ZP680) - Lush Emerald Green Metallic - Full Coverage (Originally designed for Zang Toi/AW13).
This is the only one I had a little trouble with - This one took three coats on some fingers because of dragging. The formula was a tad streaky also. It did look fine with the 3rd coat though. If you like the color, it's nothing bad enough to put you off of it. Three coats and no top coat.

SPECIAL EDITION - SATINS TOPPER Maria - Luisa (ZP662) - Sparkling Cellophane Gold Topper (Originally designed for Rafael Cennamo/AW13).
Cellophane! That's the perfect word to describe these gold flakes. No issues with this one either - I used one coat for all the swatches below and one coat of Poshe top coat made everything perfectly smooth.

What do you think? My favorite of this collection is Mason, with Neve a close second. What are yours?

  4. My fave is Channing with Mason a close second. Only one I'm not too keen on is Claudine, only bc I have 2 polishes that seem quite similar. But all in all, another gorg collection from a fabulous, cruelty-free, vegan company.
