Comparison Request: Zoya Normani vs Zoya Jana

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty-Free

Several people asked how close Zoya Normani was to Zoya Jana before I ever swatched the new Zoya Naturel Collection and I've gotten several requests just since last night so here's a quick comparison for you!

Jana is just ever-so-slightly lighter than Normani and then only in really strong lighting. As I've mentioned several times, Jana is one of my top 3 favorite Zoya polishes of all time and I'm on my 3rd bottle of it. So it's no wonder I loved Normani. The formulas are the same, the application is the same and as you can see, the colors are *almost* the same.

But I'm not fussed about it because it's a shade I love.

Do you need both? No.

Even I wouldn't need both and you know if there's much difference at ALL, I want both. LOL!

Dior Diorific Frimas #318 - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product may NOT be Cruelty Free

Dior Diorific Frimas #318

I nearly passed this one up. What was I thinking? The minute I put it on I knew it was a must-have for me. I expected "lobster hands" and I was pleasantly surprised. It's one of those with enough warmth with the golden shimmer and micro-flakes and still cool-toned enough for me!

There are three other polishes in the Golden Winter Collection, in addition to a Jewel Manicure Duo. The other shades are Winter #128, Minuit #995 (click for my review of Minuit) and a re-promote of Marilyn #751 that I reviewed here from last year. $26.00.

The Jewel Manicure Duo is Bijou Base Vernis and Perles Cristal - a golden polish/base and micro-pearls for a unique 3D manicure. $39.00.

I will have swatch photos and my review of Frimas for you after the jump...

Nail of the Day: Chanel Particulière #505

Personal Collection
*I don't believe this product to be Cruelty Free

I'll leave you tonight with a quick Nail of the Day post on a polish I've had for quite a while. It was recently pointed out to me that I've used over half a bottle of this polish and never done a proper post on it - just it. I've included it in a few comparison posts so I didn't even realize! Since it's part of the permanent collection and widely available, I thought I'd give it a quick shout-out tonight.

Particulière is a grey-based taupy brown creme and it's one of my favorite polishes ever. Perfect formula, although I sort of bunged it up a little with my top coat tonight. Bah! Still gorgeous though.

*This product is Cruelty Free

I've been holding out on you! I've worn this polish a few times, but I hadn't gotten around to showing you yet and that's just shameful because it is SO pretty. You can see by the length of my nails here that it was a while back. Oops!

Cult Nails Let's Get Dirty

Cult Nails Let's Get Dirty is part of the In the Garden Collection and it's a wax finish taupe polish with shimmer. No issues with formula or application at all. Two coats for full opacity and photos both with and without top coat.

Thrifty Thursday! With Milani Hipster Plum and Just Grayt

It's time again for Thrifty Thursday! Today I have a couple of great Milani polishes for you. Hipster Plum and Just Grayt.

First up, Hipster Plum on its own...it's a great plum/purple creme with a great formula. Two coats, no top coat.

Milani Hipster Plum

And I did a quick gradient on the ring finger and thumb using Milani Just Grayt, which is a grey/taupe creme. This one takes two coats for full opacity as well and the formula and application are smooth and easy.

Milani Hipster Plum with Just Grayt Gradient

Milani Hipster Plum with Just Grayt Gradient

I loved the color combination and I'll be doing a full gradient with these soon. What do you think? I managed to get a coat of Poshe over the nails with the gradient but forgot the rest of the nails. Sometimes I just don't know about me.

Milani polishes are available at retailers and e-tailers throughout the US and retail for around $4.49.

Kiko 399 Silky Taupe

Happy Saturday!

I just realized that I fell so hard for Kiko 400 Steel Grey holo that I never got around to showing you the other Kiko holos! So this morning I have the taupe one to show you.

Kiko #399 Silky Taupe Holo is just that, a light taupe/sand colored strong linear holographic polish. The photos speak for themselves really. Formula and application were a dream. No issues to report at all! Two coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos. I didn't use a base at all...not even a regular base coat.

What do you think of this one?

Unfortunately, I don't know of anywhere to get these in the US. I have friends in the UK and France who get them for me. Thank goodness!!! If you're lucky enough to be in France or Italy, you can purchase them in-store. It's definitely worth finding someone to get them for you, in my opinion. There are 4 of the holos and I love them all!

Hot Chick Physics - Gandalf the Grey

Today I have a new-to-me indie to introduce to you - Hot Chick Physics. They are just starting out and have a Lord of the Rings inspired line out. Today I have Gandalf the Grey to show you. I have a few more to show you over the next week so stay tuned for those too.

Gandalf the Grey is a grey/taupe shimmer that I thought at first was going to be MEH. But when I put it on, I LOVED it! The formula is great and it went on easily. I used two coats for opacity and no top coat for the photos. Check out the close-ups. It really has a lot of depth and interest.

What do you think? I actually was so pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this one. It's one of the grey/taupe colors that I gravitate toward naturally anyway, so I guess it's not such a stretch. The formula and depth are what drew me in.

You can purchase Hot Chick Physics polishes at their Etsy Store here and they retail for $8.50 for full sized bottles and $4.50 for minis. You can also follow"like" them on Facebook here to see what they're up to!

Nails Inc. Sugar House Lane - Swatches and Review

Good morning! This morning I have one of the Nails Inc. Special Effects Sprinkles polishes to show you - Sugar House Lane. I'm not a huge fan of the Sprinkles line, but this one is my favorite and I actually wore it for a full mani for a few days, which is saying something for me.

Sugar House Lane is an opaque glitter polish. Taupe base with black, white and silver microglitter. The first coat gives sparse glitters and the second coat gives the glitter payoff. I used two coats for opacity. The base actually covers the glitter pieces for the most part, which is actually something I like. Probably most people will be disappointed that the glitters are somewhat muted - especially the silver ones. Again, something I like, something most people won't. This is a very top coat hungry polish. I first used two coats of Poshe and it still had that bumpy feel. I followed up with a coat of Gelous, which made it *almost* smooth to the touch, but not quite. The final look reminded me of a Corian kitchen countertop.

What do you think of this one? Which of the Sprinkles line is your favorite?

A limited selection of Nails Inc polishes are available through Amazon.com or Sephora.com for around $9.50 in the US and the entire line is available through Nails Inc's own site nailsinc.com for around £11.00. Nails Inc. doesn't ship to the US so I'm ever thankful to my UK buddies for keeping me supplied.

butter LONDON Posh Bird - Swatches and Review

I have another new butter LONDON polish to show you - Posh Bird. This one is one of about 15 or so new polishes from butter LONDON this season - so many I have lost track. I believe this one though is from New York Fashion Week. Posh Bird is a really unique one - it's a shimmery light taupe with purple undertones. Application was great and I used two coats for full opacity and one coat of Poshe for all photos.

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $14.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Posh Bird is just one of the over 80 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.

Dior Bengale -Swatches and Review

Dior Bengale is one of the polishes I swatched a while back and was SURE I blogged about. I even did comparison posts with it! But apparently I didn't get around to posting about it. I'm going to blame sun spots. Or NyQuil.

So here she is - Dior Bengale. I got this one right after I got Amazonia, which I DID actually blog about. Bengale was part of the Golden Jungle Collection 2012 and is a deep brown/taupe creme that applied, like most Dior cremes, like butter. No issues at all to report. Two coats, no top coat. You can even see some of the hidden shimmer Dior is famous for in some of the photos! See how short my nails were! I'm so sorry I didn't show you this beauty sooner.
