Chanel FNO 2013 Magic - Swatches, Review and Comparison

Nothing to Disclose
*This product may NOT be Cruelty Free

Tonight I have one of the two new Chanel FNO 2013 polishes to show you - Magic...and a comparison at the end. (To see Swatches and comparisons of Chanel Cosmic, click here.)

Chanel Magic, one of two Limited Edition polishes created for Vogue's Fashion's Night Out 2013, is a medium-to-dark blue creme that has just enough green in the base to keep it from being navy.

Continued after the jump...

Magic's formula is amazing and to show the opacity, I am wearing one coat (and no top coat) for all of the photos except the comparison photos at the end where I have two coats and no top coat. No issues at all! Wearing one coat vs two coats didn't change the color, but I usually wear two coats 1) out of habit and 2) to cover the ridges in my nails. But I wanted you guys to see one coat of this one.

Artificial lighting...

color accurate

strong lighting - washed out slightly

Indirect natural lighting...

Before I even swatched this one I got requests for comparisons, so I pulled out Chanel Blue Rebel and Zoya Natty - the two closest ones I have in my collection. The Revlons that were touted as alternatives to the Chanel Les Jeans Collection weren't even close.

Two coats of each - no top coat

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, they aren't dupes. But they make an awesome ombre mani! What do you think? Close enough to Blue Rebel for you?

Out of the three, Magic is my favorite because it's a deeper shade.

This one is now available at Chanel Boutiques and if it's like other FNO years, it will show up on Chanel.com eventually and possibly Nordstrom.com. Last I checked it hadn't yet though. Retail $27.00.

  1. A really nice blue color but nothing I would pay so much for. In Sweden this cost 250 SEK and that is about 39 USD.
