butter LONDON Gobsmacked - Swatches and Review

This evening I have butter LONDON Gobsmacked to show you. It's part of their Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection. To see my other reviews of this collection, click the links: Scouse. Squatter and Shag. Cake-Hole and Trustafarian. Brummie and Lovely Jubbly.

Gobsmacked is a charcoal grey glitter polish - tiny dark charcoal grey (and possibly silver, though I can't tell if it's just the charcoal ones catching the light or actual separate silver ones) glitter pieces in a clear base. I've layered it over a black polish for opacity but I used three coats alone on my thumb to show you how it looks worn alone. I used two coats over the black. It's a very textured polish, so you will need Gelous or a heavy top coat if you want a smooth-feeling finish. I didn't have any application issues at all.

The next photo shows the thumb with the glitter alone. I used three coats over my bare nail.

And the closeup (I've done it over a swatch wheel so you're not distracted by my stained nails.)

This one is pretty, but it's probably my least favorite of the new Fall Collection just because I don't personally find it that interesting. The formula and application, however, were great and if this is a look you like, you'll need this one.

What do you think of this one?

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores.  They retail for $14.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" butter LONDON on Facebook here. Gobsmacked is just one of the over 60 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  1. It creates a nice look, but I agree with you. It's a little bit un-orginal.

  2. I can understand why people might not like this polish, but I think this and Lovely Jubbly are are the best of the bunch! :)

  3. I love gray but this isn't that impressive of a color to me, although it looks fabulous on you!
