butter LONDON Knackered and Branwen's Feather - PIC Heavy!

Tonight I have an AMAZING multi-chrome scattered holo layering polish to show you. butter LONDON Knackered.

Now I said it was a layering polish and I believe it is, but that doesn't mean you can't wear it by itself. It doesn't have the same impact though and would need many coats.

Knackered is sheer, but when layered over a darker color comes alive! Not sure why it's named knackered (British slang for worn out or tired) unless it's because it's exhausted from multi-tasking. As I said, it's a multi-chrome flashing purple, violet, grey, green, blue, gold and copper, as well as a scattered holo.

It applied easily and perfectly and I had no issues.

First, here's the "underwear" - butter LONDON Branwen's Feather is a vampy blackened purple with purple and multi-colored shimmer. It's another complex color though and almost looks like a rich, multi-faceted brown in certain light. It applied smoothly and was perfectly opaque in two coats. Shown here with no top coat.

Branwen's Feather is gorgeous in its own right but also makes the perfect base color for butter LONDON Knackered. I tried to capture all the nuances of this color, but I'm afraid I failed. Here are my attempts...with one coat of Knackered over two coats of Branwen's Feather. No top coat. (I did apply a top coat later - you can *barely* feel the texture of the scattered holo glitters/shimmer. It only took a regular top coat to be perfectly smooth. It doesn't eat top coat at all.)

And just for informational purposes...here's is Knackered without her underwear. This is 4 coats and as you can see, it doesn't have the same impact at all.

I had this for over a week and was going to possibly do a giveaway with it, not realizing that it's way better on than in the bottle. I finally opened it and it's mine mine all mine! But since it's so gorgeous, I might grab another bottle for a special giveaway anyhow. Stay tuned!

Available at butterlondon.com and select retailers for $14. The bottles are .4 ounces.

What do you think? Have you tried it yet? I'd say this one and Disco Biscuit are my two favorites from butter LONDON's latest 2012 collection.

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  1. I love butter london's as much as Deborah Lippmann's. I didn't buy knackered and I'm kicking myself because I have black knight. Now I"m seeing your swatches with one of the colors I have and sitting here saying oh you know you will now go get it.

  2. Butter London is probably my favorite brand, but I'm not too fond of Knackered. I'll probably give mine to my daughter.

  5. I'm amazed by the effect! Although I'd rather Brawnen's Feather alone, with this layer of butter London knackered becomes really fantastic!

  6. I'm glad I checked your blog for this swatch because I was wondering what undies I would use with it. My wallet, however, shakes her fist at you.
