Scofflaw Nail Varnish Winter 2014 Collection: Dingoes Ate My Baby

*This product is Cruelty Free

Tonight continues swatches of the new Scofflaw Winter 2014 Collection set to launch January 5th, 2013. Tonight is Dingoes Ate My Baby!

Here's what the creator had to say about this collection and her inspiration: Now, you may have noticed I don't really do 'collections', per se. Only in the most vague way. If the winter collection had a theme, it would be the idea of 'comfort'. My go-to colors. Colors that make me feel cozy. Polish names that give me a warm fuzzy - you get the idea!

SCOFFLAW NAIL VARNISH WINTER 2014 COLLECTION

I've decided to give each one of these beauties its own post so I could show you both in artificial lighting and indirect natural lighting without trying to keep it short. Then I will do a round-up post so they'll all be in one place for future reference.

Pahlish - Greenery and Humid Air

*These products are Cruelty Free

Pahlish
Greenery and Humid Air

Greenery and Humid Air is described by the maker as a deep teal jelly polish with an assortment of purple, aqua, and pink shimmers accented by sparse holographic shimmer and green microglitters. All true, but the micro-flakes! The micro-flakes are my favorite part!

Dollish Polish Space, The Final Frontier - Hyperdrive - Swatches and Review

*This product is Cruelty Free

Today's polish is one of those "Yes, I think you NEED this one" polishes. I mean there are several of those, but this one really surprised me! It's Dollish Polish Space, The Final Frontier - Hyperdrive. And for all you trekkies, I need not explain!

Dollish Polish Space, The Final Frontier - Hyperdrive is a blackened teal scattered holographic with a perfect, creamy, self-leveling formula. To be honest, I've worn this with one coat when I've had to be out of the house in a hurry. But for the swatches below, I'm showing you two coats and no top coat. No issues to report at all.

Emily de Molly - Oceanic Forces

*This product is Cruelty Free

Happy Monday! Hope the weekend treated you well. My guy took me gambling this past weekend for my birthday and while I didn't "clean their clocks" I did come back with a little more than I left with, so it was okay! So...I have a happy polish to show you this morning. I'm not sure why, but circle glitters make me happy.

Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces is the teal version of Cosmic Forces and it's just full of happy circles in varying sizes - in a teal jelly base.

Here's what the creator had to say about Oceanic Forces:

BASE - Dark teal jelly.

GLITTER - Turquoise holo dots and hex.

Fishing WILL be required as the large glitters have a tendency to sink and slide off the brush. A gentle shake before use will help distribute the glitter.

OPAQUE - in 2-3 coats depending on application.

-------------------------------------

I actually didn't have much of an issue at all getting the glitters out and on the nail. As is my habit with all glitter polishes, I use a toothpick and scrape down the side and across the bottom of the bottle when I first open them...gets the glitters "all mixed up and floaty." I wore it alone with 2 medium coats and one generous coat of Poshe top coat.

Nails Inc. Denim

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Happy Sunday! Today I have a polish from one of my favorite brands - Nails Inc. It's called Denim and it's a great denim blue/deep blue-leaning teal creme. Not to be confused with their new Denim Effect polish, which is textured.

Denim is a one-coat creme with a perfect formula. Creamy smooth, perfect application. Even with one-coaters I usually do two but this time I didn't, just to show you. No top coat for the photos.

Comparison Request: Zoya Charla vs Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty Free

Well THAT was fast! I've already had a few people ask for a comparison between Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean that I just posted and Zoya Charla.

Well, I can see why - they do look quite similar, especially when they're not seen side-by-side!

So here ya go!

Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean vs Zoya Charla

Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean vs Zoya Charla

Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean vs Zoya Charla
Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean vs Zoya Charla

So as you can see, they're not dupes. I've used two coats for each color and Charla really needed 3. Charla leans more toward the green side of teal while Crush on Caribbean leans to the blue side of teal. Charla has more gold than Crush on Caribbean. The finishes are basically the same though. Charla is just a bit thinner. They're both cruelty-free. Hard Candy is $4 and Zoya is $8.

What do you think? Do you need both?

Thrifty Thursday! Starring Hard Candy Crush on Caribbean

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Continuing with my lil Hard Candy series I seem to have going for Thrifty Thursday, I have Crush on Caribbean to show you this evening.

Crush on Caribbean is part of their Crushed Chromes collection and it's a foily, metallicy, shimmery blue-leaning teal with gold shimmer. Very shimmery and sparkly in person. No issues at all with formula or application and I used two coats and no top coat for the photos. The base is actually a crelly base (you can see in the cuticle area where the flecks aren't prominent but it builds in only 2 coats!)

Ruby White Tips - Happy Hour Collection Part 1

Press Sample
*These Products are Cruelty Free

Tonight I have 3 polishes from the latest collection from Ruby White Tips - The Happy Hour Collection! I have the whole collection to show you over the next day or two also!

Ruby White Tips Happy Hour Collection

The three I"ll be showing you tonight are Pina Colada, Pink Sangria and Bay Breeze.

Here's what the maker had to say about these:

Pina ColadaThe first tropical drink I ever had was a Pina Colada. I think it was the brain freeze that mad me get such a headache from them! Never again. I still can't even drink Slurpee's because of it. The smell though....OMG It's heavenly! Pick a fruit, there's a bunch of the neon's in the white creamy base. It's a great color. No lumps totally smooth too! There's some purple, green, pink and blue squares in there. With some micro blue making the base look light blue, but it's not, it's white.

Sangria First time I ever had sangria.....What the hell is this fruit for? Then I took a sip and fell in love! If you've never had Sangria it's a red wine, with all sorts of fruit in it. It's got a ton of pure cane sugar in it too! It turns from a deep purple red wine color to a pinkish purple color. Kind of similar to this polish. Polish is red based, but turned hot magenta with purple foiled flakes! It's an amazing color!

Bay BreezeVodka, Cranberry and Pineapple! (Malibu Baybreeze is a close, just swap the vodka for it). My past life (before kids) I bartended. For a LONGgggggg time. Maybe that's why I like mixing polishes so much? I think I owe those reading this money for therapy...This color is really smooth. It's a teal base color with a hue of yellow, but not yellow. It's a really hard thing to explain.

piCture pOlish Sea Jewel

Personal Collection
*This product is Cruelty Free

This is one busy Saturday! Right now I have another gorgeous polish to show you - one of the newest piCture pOlish Blogger Collaboration Shades - Sea Jewel, created with the lovely Anutka over at Wacki Laki and it's stunning. Go check out her post for her inspiration and swatches here!

piCture pOlish Sea Jewel

Sea Jewel is a "mesh" shade and it's a green-leaning teal jelly base full of silver glitter. The formula and application on this one is fantastic and I had no issues at all. I used 2 light coats and no top coat for the photos. I also wanted to see what it looked like layered over black, so I did that on the thumb with one coat over a black creme. I'll be wearing this baby alone.

Emily de Molly Amazonia - Swatches and Review

Press Sample
*This product is Cruelty Free

Happy Sunday! I'm back today with another stunner from Emily de Molly - Amazonia.

Emily de Molly - Amazonia

Amazonia is a deep teal linear holographic polish. The color saturation is amazing and the formula and application were great. No issues to report at all. I used no base coat, two coats of color and no top coat for the photos. As a side note, Poshe did not diminish the holographic properties.

These photos are after day 3 - you can see minimal tip wear. Actually you can't see the tip wear except in close photos, like here...but I didn't wrap the tips because I thought I was just going to swatch it, but then I couldn't bring myself to take it off. I've done dishes and all sorts of housework and no chips.

Colors by Llarowe - Her Eyes Shined - Limited Edition benefiting the National Kidney Association

Press Sample
*This product is Cruelty Free

I have another polish from the new Colors By Llarowe brand to show you! This one is a glitter jelly from the Missing You Collection called Her Eyes Shined and the proceeds from the sale of this one benefit the National Kidney Association. This is a Limited Edition polish.

Her Eyes Shined is a turquoise green jelly polish with turquoise and blue micro-glitter. This polish can be worn alone in 3 to 4 coats or layered. I have some photos of it alone and layered over black. I didn't have any issues with this one, but it does apply like a jelly, so if you wear it alone, you will need several coats. One coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

Chanel Azure 657 - Swatches and Review

Personal Collection
*Cruelty Free status in Question

Good afternoon! Right now I have one of the newer Chanel releases to show you - 657 Azure (not to be confused with 465 Azur).

Chanel 657 Azure

Azure 657 is part of their L'été Papillon De Chanel Summer 2013 Collection and is described by Chanel as a “metallic blue green” and that's a pretty good description. It's a DUOCHROME! It shifts from a paler, green-leaning teal to a deep but bright blue. Application and formula were good on this one. It's self-leveling and actually almost completely streak-free. I used two easy coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos.

Literary Lacquers - Bionic Mmmm Detector

Good evening! Tonight I have another Literary Lacquer polish to show you from The Good Parts Collection: Bionic Mmmm Detector!

Here's what the creator had to say about Bionic Mmmm Detector:

Bionic Mmmm-Detector Full Size Nail Lacquer : The Good Parts Collection - Erotic fiction from Fanny Hill to 50 Shades

This polish was inspired by Vox by Nicholson Baker, published in 1990. This entire book is one long anonymous phone sex conversation over a 1-900 number. This book, published in the midst of the AIDS crisis represents the ultimate safe sex in a pre-Internet era. This book gained even more notoriety as the book famously given to President Bill Clinton by the young intern Monica Lewinsky.

Bionic Mmmm-Detector is a black jelly polish packed with aqua, teal, blue and green microglitter.

I used 3 coats of Bionic Mmmm Detector and had no issues with formula or application at all. One generous coat of Poshe for the photos.
