a-England: The Ballerina Collection - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty Free

a-England
The Ballerina Collection

Since a-England is one of my favorite brands, I could barely WAIT to get my hot lil paws on these. And once again, a-England didn't disappoint me. Their Burne-Jones Dream Collection is still probably my favorite collection of theirs but this collection is stunning as well.

Colors by Llarowe: Oxen - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Colors by Llarowe
Oxen

Oxen is a tightly scattered holographic polish is a deep oxblood shade - sort of a red plum with a violet purple holo center. It's part of the Winter 2013 Collection. And yes, I've already been asked how it compares to Unorthodox Annie. Unorthodox Annie is more of a bruised plum (browner undertones) with a tight linear brown/copper/bronze/royal blue rainbow. So yeah, you need both LOL! The formula and application are the same though. Smooth and easy and opaque in two coats. I used 2 coats and no top coat for the photos.

Girly Bits: Well Isn't That Special - Swatches and Review

*This product is Cruelty Free

Girly Bits
Well Isn't That Special

Well Isn't That Special is part of Girly Bits' Fall Season Premier Collection and was inspired by Saturday Night Live. I don't know of anyone in my age group who didn't have a house full of people going around saying "Well Isn't That Special?" in that mock voice. We were such smartalecs!

Dollish Polish Space, The Final Frontier - Hyperdrive - Swatches and Review

*This product is Cruelty Free

Today's polish is one of those "Yes, I think you NEED this one" polishes. I mean there are several of those, but this one really surprised me! It's Dollish Polish Space, The Final Frontier - Hyperdrive. And for all you trekkies, I need not explain!

Dollish Polish Space, The Final Frontier - Hyperdrive is a blackened teal scattered holographic with a perfect, creamy, self-leveling formula. To be honest, I've worn this with one coat when I've had to be out of the house in a hurry. But for the swatches below, I'm showing you two coats and no top coat. No issues to report at all.

Darling Diva Polish - Tulips on an Organ

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Tonight I have a very special polish to show you - a custom for my birthday!!! From none other than Darling Diva Polish! Why are you showing me this when I can't buy it you ask? Well first because it's too gorgeous NOT to show you and second, because even though you can't buy this, you can WIN IT! I have 3 extra bottles that Darling Diva sent me just for my huge birthday giveaway. The giveaway hasn't started as I write this, but I plan to get it up and rolling either tonight or tomorrow morning.

The name. NO, I didn't name it - I figured it was best to leave the creating to the creative genius. I told her I loved the color violet, holos and micro-flakes and VOILA! Tulips on an Organ was born!

Darling Diva Polish Tulips on an Organ

Yes, I said Tulips on an Organ. No, I didn't get it at first. But now that I DO get it, I can't UN-get it - hahaha!

Tulips on an Organ is a tightly scattered holographic gorgeous purple violet with micro-flakes and it's stunning. Two coats of creamy perfection. No issues at all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Okay okay, it's a few weeks early but still!

Thrifty Thursday! Starring Milani

Personal Collection
*This product is Cruelty Free

Thrifty Thursday is back! Sorry about last week. Today I have a Milani polish. Milani polishes retail for around $4.49 and are widely available in drug and grocery stores. I'm not sure how easily you can find the one I'm showing you this time, but I know they are still out there because I got this one at my local grocery store and have seen them there recently. I can't, however, find them on the milanicosmetics.com site though so I'm wondering if they're discontinued. Regardless, there are LOTS of Milani polishes that fit the bill for Thrifty Thursday.

This one is called Hi-Res and I picked it up with several other "3D Holographic" polishes in the same line. Hi-Res is a light purple tightly scattered holo and the formula and application were good. I used three light coats and no top coat for the photos.

I'm back with another holo! Tonight I have Above the Curve's Diablos.

Diablos is part of the Fallen Angel Collection and is described by the maker as "a beautiful dark reddish brown almost mahogany holographic polish."

*$1 of every bottle sold goes to Shriner's Hospital for Children!*

Diablos is a tightly scattered, almost linear holo and I used 2 coats alone for full opacity and no top coat for the photos. No issues to report at all. Great formula and application.

Comparison Request: Black/Dark Charcoal Holos

For those of you wondering if there's a difference in some of the charcoal holos that are out there, today I have a comparison of four of them.

AquaDaisy Fuel Spill, Petites Color Fever Black Diamond,
Color Club Revvvolution and Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm

Color Club Revvvolution and Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm

ONE COAT EACH - Black/Dark Charcoal Holo Comparison

Obviously that's FUEL SPILL and NOT SHAZAAM! #moron I labeled it wrong in the photo!

Color Club Revvvolution is a linear holo and the strongest. AquaDaisy is a loose linear or a tightly scattered holo and the second strongest. Chainmail Charm is more brown and Black Diamond is more black.

Of course my two favorites are the one-coaters - CC Revvvolution and AquaDaisy Shazaam.

Thanks for visiting!

xoxo,
Sheila ♥

China Glaze Hyper Haute from the Tronica Collection

China Glaze's Tronica Collection was released January of 2011 and were touted as "holographic" polishes. Many people were excited because China Glaze's OMG Collection were linear holographic goodness and already much collected and harder to find. The Tronica Collection disappointed many people because they were not linear holo polishes. BUT in my opinion, they are pretty special on their own! No, they're not linear holo. I'd call them very tightly scattered holos and the formula is AMAZING. Much better than the OMGs. Of course it's a trade-off, but aren't most things?

Tonight I'm showing you the last one I received, Hyper Haute...from a sweet friend (THANKS SANDY!)

Hyper Haute is a great raspberry scattered holo and applied perfectly in one coat! I did apply two coats out of habit, but it really wasn't needed.

These are still hanging around here and there on eBay and at some nail supply stores. If you see them, grab them!  They're definitely worth it, in my opinion. My favorite China Glaze Collection so far!

What do you think? Did you get these when they were released?

I'm taking Saturday (tomorrow) off to have a little fun. See you Sunday night!
