Literary Lacquers
2014 Community Collection

This collection is made up of 8 new collaboration shades between Amy from Literary Lacquers and polish aficionados in the nail community.

And one bonus limited edition polish that will be free with purchase through Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014.

Continued after the jump...

I didn't have any issues at all with formula or application of any of these polishes. The descriptions are the maker's but I will have my comments after each one. I tried to take photos of each one in artificial light, shade and full sun, when it cooperated. So let's get started!

Lurid Fog – Designed by Jen of XOXO Jen – Inspired by The New Grub Street, A slate grey linear holo with a strong purple shimmer.

*I used 3 light coats of this one with one coat of top coat for the photos - I'm noticing purple or violet micro-flakes as well, especially prominent in the shade photos*

Fallen Tributes – Designed by Jennifer of 4Boys1Mom Lacquer – Inspired by The Hunger Games, a deep blue linear holo with gold flakes and copper shimmer.

*I used 2 coats with ont coat of top coat for the photos*

Grasshopper with Cotton Candy Hair – Designed by Cate Cropp – Inspired by The Dresden Files , a bright grasshopper green linear holo with pink and blue flecks.

*I used 2 coats of this one with one coat of top coat for the photos - also I'm noticing clearly in the shade photos especially blue and gold flakes!*

Porco Rosso – Designed by Schette of Schette Essai Beauté – Inspired by Porco Rosso, a deep red linear holo with taupe and gold flakies.

*I used 2 coats with one coat of top coat for the photos*

Attic Mice – Designed by Jess Moore – Inspired by Flowers in the Attic, a medium grey creamy linear holo.

*I used 2 coats of this one with no top coat for all photos - this one does lean a tad green on me and seems to be a green-based grey as opposed to a blue-based grey*

Effie’s Trinket – Designed by Heather Tharp – Inspired by The Hunger Games, a bright pinky-purple linear holo with pink shimmer.

*I used 2 coats with no top coat for the photos*

Always Winter Never Christmas – Designed by Kirby of The Mercurial Magpie – Inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, a silvery blue mega glitter linear holo.

*I used 3 light coats of this one with one coat of top coat for the photos*

The Ruby Thief – Designed by Jenne of Polished Pathology – Inspired by Dinosaurs in the Attic , a ruby pink glass fleck shimmer.

*I used 3 coats of this one with one coat of top coat for the photos - check out the shade pics - wow!*

And finally, the Gift with Purchase (only through SUNDAY DEC. 7th though!) I Heard the Bells LE Gift 11/28 – 12/7: With a $24 purchase you will get a mini size. With a $48 purchase you will get a full size (excluding shipping.)

I Heard the Bells – Limited Edition Gift with Purchase available 11/28-12/7– Inspired by the poem I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, a bronzy-copper mega glitter holo.

*I used 3 light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos*

What do you think? Favorites? This is hard. I adore Effie's Trinket and Porco Rosso but WOW I Heard the Bells is stunning. I can't really narrow it down this time much because I love greys and Attic Mice and Lurid Fog call to me. But the FLAKIES in Grasshopper and Fallen Tributes wowed me too. Yeah, you're on your own here.

You can purchase these now at the Literary Lacquers site here. Be sure and check them out on Facebook here and Instagram here for more swatches and information.

Purchases over $80 will get free US shipping with code BLACKFRIDAY2014 or $5 off international shipping with code INTERNATIONAL2014 and YES the codes are still good!
