Jindie Nails
Electric Grape - Reformulated
Llarowe Exclusive

I'm probably going to gush a bit more on this post than I normally do when I really like something. Apologies in advance.

Continued after the jump...

Electric Grape is a re-formulation of the older version, which I do not have to compare for you unfortunately. And it is MY perfect shade. It's a red-violet purple, which is impossible to find. If you remember, I had to franken my own because there wasn't anything else out there anywhere in this exact shade. Not a blue-based purple. Not too bright. Perfect. And the blue micro-flakes provide the perfect contrast. Just look at the center pic in my banner. I about fainted when I put it on. It's more "purple" in the bottle and what appeared on my nails was a total surprise!

From what I can tell, this is a more opaque version of the original. It's still a jelly/crelly and all of my photos are showing it with 4 coats. But on the nail it reads more like a creme/crelly even though it applies like a jelly. This would probably be opaque on most people in 3 coats but I loved the color payoff with 4. It's jelly enough for a stampwich or jelly sandwich but not sheer enough for a true "pond" mani with several layers.

Four coats with one coat of thin top coat.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

The closest shade I've been able to find so far, except my franken, is Kiko 291, which is a straight creme. It's on the thumb here. But it's slightly more "purple" than this gorgeous red-violet purple. (Oh, by the way, the photo below is only showing 3 coats of Electric Grape.)

And here's how it compares with my franken...I used some old powder-form spectraflair I had but only because I didn't have access to the blue micro-flakes. As you can see, the base color is the same. I can't even TELL you how happy I am that I don't have to try and figure out how to make another bottle of this - and to have the blue micro-flakes in it!

We're not even quite half way through the year yet, but I can tell you that as of this moment, this polish is at the top of my Best Polish of the Year list and I can't think what would have to be created to knock it out of that spot before I do my end-of-year posts.

What do you think?

You can find the description of this one at the Jindie Nails website and details about availability an other news and information on the Jindie Nails Facebook page.
