The Digit-al Dozen Does Metals: Day 1 - Mixed Metals Skittlette

Nothing to Disclose

The Digit-al Dozen
Does METALS

The Digit-al Dozen is baaaaack! This week the prompt is metals and I can tell you I had no CLUE where to even start with this prompt. Totally lost. And then I sort of had a surge of ideas. Wonderful ideas! Ideas I couldn't pull off in a million years. Ha!

So I did what I do when I have no clue - I just started. So this was what I ended up with first...a sort of "mixed metals" skittlette.

I used a base of Pure Ice Black Velour and for the thumb, ring and index fingers I used Pure Ice Kiss Me Here, Silver Mercedes and Wet n Wild WildShine Black Creme. I did circles in the grey and then went in with the silver and black and quickly "blotted" then with my finger tip to blend a bit before they dried. At a distance, they do look 3-D but up close in these shots you can definitely see what I did, shattering the illusion. For the middle and pinkie I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes, Magic and Totally Amp.

Stay tuned the rest of this week - I have 4 more and one might just be my smart-alec "take" on the whole "metals" prompt. *giggle*

  3. Gorgeous. I love this. I can't decide which design I like best. The 3D looking studded nail or the one with the metal searchlights/ pick up sticks look, or the moon looking one. All look great and I really love the colors in this mani.

  5. That's tomorrow! Not as smart-alec as the "ruffles" mani I did though.
