Good morning! Today I have a bright polish for you - to brighten up the dreariness outside.
I hadn't purchased any of the Nina Ultra Pro line lately and while I was picking up a fresh bottle of Gelous at Sally, this color just called to me. It reminded me of
Sinful Colors Dream On. They have new bottles, too, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Punki Purple is a bright neon fuchsia/red-violet polish. It dries to a semi-matte finish like most neons. Formula was actually a bit better than Sinful Colors Dream On, which is a plus. HOWEVER, and that's a big however, the brushes are awful. I'll show you those in a bit. Of course, it's still, like the other fuchsia/red-violet polishes I have, nearly impossible for me to photograph accurately.
First, the normal finish without top coat...

And the brush. Ugh. It's sort of flat - meant to be flat anyway. And very wide. VERY. Wider than most of my nails. I like wide - like the wide Dior brush. Plus it's not cut well at all and I don't know how it splays because I think the splayed width would be around a half to 3/4ths of an inch and my big toe is barely that wide. I've taken a few shots of the Nina Ultra Pro brush compared to the Dior brush...

Plus there were random uneven "hairs" that made me stabby.
So, color? A+. Formula? B+. Brush? D-. Nina, Y U mess up da brushes?
Nina Ultra Pro polishes are available at Sally Beauty Supply and retail for $3.99 each for 15 ml bottles.
