Cult Nails Ay Poppy and Kiss My Rose Bush - Swatches and Review

Press Sample / Personal Collection
*These Products are Cruelty Free

Good evening! I'm back with MOAR POLISH! Two more polishes from the Cult Nails In the Garden Collection. This time it's a mixed review. A roller coaster with the highest high and a pretty low low.

Earlier I reviewed Cult Nails Morning Glory from the In the Garden Collection and this time I have Ay Poppy and Kiss My Rose Bush for you.

First up, Ay Poppy. This one ROCKED MY WORLD, seriously. Perfect formula and application. Two coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos. Best. Orange. Ever.

If that's not WOW, I don't know what is.

And then there was Kiss My Rose Bush.

Kiss My Rose Bush is one of the "wax finish" polishes in the collection, but unlike Morning Glory, which had great formula and application, this one has a troublesome formula. I swatched it several times, trying to find the right "method" that would make it ok. I wasn't able to find one. It was thicker, not self-leveling and just all around uneven and splotchy. I used two coats and am showing you with top coat and without. The top coat helped it some. BUT it's not bad for nail art, see final photo.

So there you have it, the good and the bad. I loved Ay Poppy so much that if it ONLY came in a duo with Kiss My Rose Bush, I'd still buy it. Thankfully, they're available as a complete collection or individually.

Cult Nails polishes are now being carried by Overall Beauty! You can visit Overall Beauty on Facebook as well to stay up-to-date on re-stocks and other information. They are also still available at the Cult Nails website and retail for $12.00.

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  1. Love both these colors, and agree that the pink is a bit less friendly than the others in the collection. Just took Ay Poppy off my toes after a successful run! Thanks for sharing! :)
