Va-Va-Va-VAMP!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my *headsmack* of the week. HOW did I miss this polish? Stupid PoDunk town. I'm guessing Lava Red came out around the same time as Rags to Riches and Wild Orchid but my Walmart never got it. My Walgreens never got it. My CVS never got it. I didn't know it existed! I found it at a run-down crappy K*Mart that I rarely EVER visit. Of course I googled as soon as I got home and found several reviews of it, so I am late to the party as usual. But this color is FANTASTIC! And because it's Rimmel, from the Lasting Finish Pro line, the formula is excellent, as is the brush and bottle design. (Around $5.00 for 0.45 ounces)
This may end up being my go-to vampy polish this winter!
It's a blackened brown (or brownish black?) base and loaded with red/burgundy micro-shimmer. Luminosity GALORE! Thomas Kincade, the Painter of Light himself, couldn't have made it appear to glow from within any better.
My favorite part? It reads more brown than red in some lighting. And when it does read red? Burgundy. Perfection.
