Superficially Colorful Lacquer
Remnants of Winter Collection

I'm especially excited to show you the first line in hopefully many more to come from this new indie brand called Superficially Colorful Lacquer. There are 2 reasons for my excitement...the polishes are great and she is a friend of mine. Let me assure you though that friend or foe, my reviews will remain objective. You have no idea the relief I felt when I tried these out for the first time and loved them. I know her and I know how long she's been creating and testing though so I wasn't too worried.

These are her new bottles, but at the time she shipped these to me, her new labels hadn't arrived so any orders will have the new labels. And they come in cute boxes - complete with QR codes!

So let's have a look!

Continued after the jump...

The Remnants of Winter Collection is made up of 5 polishes that all have a scattered sprinkling of holo shimmer/micro-glitter. They all had the same formula and application and I had no issues at all. I used 2 coats with one coat of top coat for all photos/all polishes.

Turbulence is a gorgeous burgundy violet creme with tons of shimmer and although it's not listed as a color-shifting polish, I found that the light plays so well with the shimmers that it takes on several personalities as you will see in the photos.

Check out the color shifts as the light plays on it!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mud Slide is a bronzed gold creme with lots of gold shimmer and this one, as well as all the others, really glows.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eye of the Storm is a deep, cool-toned blue with oodles of light blue shimmer.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cape Cliffs is a deep, cool-toned forest green with lots of green shimmer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seconds Before Dark is a gorgeous brown with red undertones that reads both warm and cool depending on the lighting. Tons of shimmer - so glowy!

  4. Beautiful, elegant polishes! Love the saturated colors, shimmer and just a touch of holo particles (kinda burned out on full-on holo polishes now).
