piCture pOlish - Mallard by The PolishAholic

Back at the end of July I was thrilled to be one of the many bloggers worldwide to participate in piCture pOlish's Blogfest 2012. Little did I know then that it would lead to a polish with MY name on it! Turns out that piCture pOlish poured over those blog posts and chose a few bloggers worldwide to create and name their own shade and I was one of the lucky ones along with Jen at The Polish-Aholic!! I've already shown you mine, Focus, so...

Today I have Jen's lovely creation to show you - Mallard! Birds of a feather polish together!

Here's what Jen had to say about Mallard:

Mallard is pretty much the epitome of everything I love in terms of nail polish all put it one bottle.  If you've read my blog before I don't think it's any secret that I love green polish. When I was brainstorming about what I wanted green was my jumping off point. One of my other favorite things in polish is a strong shimmer, I love the depth a good shimmer can give an already beautiful color. Last but not least you all know I love me some flakies so we couldn't not include those...right?

For the name of this polish originally I was going to go with something a little dark that referenced something I love but that not many people would have gotten. When we decided to change the name I was scouring my brain for what this shade reminded me off, I started thinking about my childhood and things I used to do with my Grandparents. I'm really lucky to have grown up down the street from my Grandparents, I pretty much spent every moment of my summers with them until I was in High School. One of the things we always used to do was visit the local park with loaves of bread and feed all the ducks, I always loved it! While I was thinking about that it hit me...the shade of green along with the shimmer reminds me of the green iridescent like feathers that Mallard ducks have on their head! I think the name is pretty fitting!

The application was fantastic and was opaque in two easy coats. No issues to report at all. And I'll let the photos do the talking - just look at the shimmer and flakes! One coat of Poshe for photos. First photos are in artificial light and last two are in indirect natural sunlight.
