Tartan Nails - Dior Camel

I've said before I suck at nail art and I've proved myself right! I tried and tried and freakin' TRIED! Finally I settled on a tartan accent nail - a take-off of Thompson Camel Plaid.

I'm Scottish (both by bloodlines and at heart) so my family has their own plaid - Davidson Plaid. This is my clan plaid:

But I didn't think it would translate well on the nails. Okay, okay, FINE! I didn't think I could DO it. Happy? And it is really cold here right now - freezing tonight again. (Someone forgot it's South Texas!) So I pulled out my Burberry jacket and scarf.  It is often visually confused with Thompson (Camel) Clan Tartan, which has been around at least since the 17th or 18th century. The naming and registration of official clan tartans began on April 8, 1815, when the Highland Society of London (founded 1778) resolved that all the clan chiefs each "be respectfully solicited to furnish the Society with as Much of the Tartan of his Lordship's Clan as will serve to Show the Pattern and to Authenticate the Same by Attaching Thereunto a Card bearing the Impression of his Lordship's Arms."

That Burberry would try to sue over the use of it is ridiculous to me. It would seem that if anyone ripped anyone else off, it was Burberry who did the ripping off.

Anyhow, since I didn't do a very good job, I've included a gratuitous photo of one of my dogs (Twinkie) in hopes of distracting you. *grin*

I don't know WHY she always lays her ears back when she sees the camera. It's funny when I hide the camera/bring it back out/hide it/bring it out...her ears go up/down/up/down/up/down. Makes me giggle.
