Chanel Exception: Swatches and Review - More Marsala!

Nothing to Disclose

Tonight I have Chanel Exception 639 from Chanel's Rouge Allure Gloss Fall 2014 Collection. I'm a little late but I'm just so behind I haven't had time to even LOOK, much less purchase.

There are 3 polishes in that collection. Exception, which I have now, Intention 633 (a camel/caramel sort of shade) and Expression 635 (which is a pink-leaning red). I haven't picked those up yet. Not sure I will just yet.

Chanel Exception

Continued after the jump...

Since this shade is a Pantone's Colors of the Year 2015 shade of "marsala" I can only assume Chanel is one of the brands who either participates in, or pays for, the Pantone reports.

Exception is a warm wine red with strong brown undertones and a nice shimmer that only shows itself in the sunshine, which I haven't seen lately. Perfect creamy formula. Doesn't dry to a super high shine like some of their polishes so a top coat is recommended for sure with this one. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Sorry I wasn't able to capture the shimmer for you. Maybe next time the sun comes out.

$27 for .13 mL. Available at Chanel counters nationwide and at larger department stores.

What do you think? This is marsala done properly and didn't give me that 80s feel that I'm sure lots of things will in the coming year.
