Milani Cosmetics Color Statement Lipstick

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty Free

Tonight I have a different sort of post for you - something I don't normally do for sure...Lipstick!

The reason I don't normally do lipstick is because I can't show it on my lips. Well, I could, but trust me, no one wants to see that.

But since Revlon discontinued (well, CHANGED) their ColorStay line and since Revlon is no longer Cruelty-Free, I've been on the hunt for a good, thrifty lipstick. So far, I haven't tried Chanel lipstick - 1) because of the price. While I can spend the $$ on a polish, I can't seem to bring myself to do it for a lipstick and 2) I'm really afraid I'll fall in love with them.

Well, the other day, while scanning Walgreens for something I hadn't tried already and hated, I found a new display of Milani Color Statement Lipstick. So I picked up a few. And I love them!

They don't taste wonky - major plus for me even though I know it doesn't bother most people. They go on smoothly, feel creamy and are really well-pigmented. They don't last ALL day, but they last longer on me than anything I've tried since Revlon ColorStay (pre-formula/packaging change and pre-non CF status) so I thought I'd show you the ones I got. Also, once they've been on for a few minutes, they sort of "set" and don't come off as easily. They're not "smear-proof" exactly, but they're as good as those others that CLAIM to be but aren't. I'd say these are comparable to the Maybelline Vivids as far as color-staturation, but they don't dry out quite as much. (Plus Milani is CF while Maybelline isn't.)

What do you think of these? Are they Chanel? No. Are they worth the $6 bucks? Absolutely.

I got these at my local Walgreens for $5.99, but you can also get them on-line at the Milani site for $5.49 each.

Thrifty Thursday! Starring Milani

Personal Collection
*This product is Cruelty Free

Thrifty Thursday is back! Sorry about last week. Today I have a Milani polish. Milani polishes retail for around $4.49 and are widely available in drug and grocery stores. I'm not sure how easily you can find the one I'm showing you this time, but I know they are still out there because I got this one at my local grocery store and have seen them there recently. I can't, however, find them on the milanicosmetics.com site though so I'm wondering if they're discontinued. Regardless, there are LOTS of Milani polishes that fit the bill for Thrifty Thursday.

This one is called Hi-Res and I picked it up with several other "3D Holographic" polishes in the same line. Hi-Res is a light purple tightly scattered holo and the formula and application were good. I used three light coats and no top coat for the photos.
