Ten Over Ten: Elizabeth and Wall St.

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty Free

Today I'll be showing you a new-to-me brand called Ten Over Ten. To be honest, before I bought these, I'd never even heard of them before. I don't remember the exact circumstances, but I did get them at Sephora online.

Ten Over Ten polishes are 5-Free and Cruelty-Free and retail for $18 for 15 mL bottles. The bottles are very hefty, square and chunky and I quite liked them.

butter LONDON Petrol - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Well, the collection I'm working on for you is delayed a bit but I have a pretty cool one from butter LONDON for you tonight - Petrol. I can't remember if I picked this one up at Dillard's or if I ordered through butter LONDON when they had a sale on. But clearly I swatched it when my nails were shorter, which makes this one another from the vault!

Petrol is described as an "opalescent sheen of oil reflected in rain" and it really does remind me of an oil slick!  This one is a sort of blue to purple duo-chrome that can be worn alone or as a topper. I've used 3 coats of this one alone - as sheer as it looked going on with the first coat, I was pretty sure it would take 4 or 5 coats but it didn't! At the end, I've layered it over black on my accent nail. I actually liked it both ways. The formula is fairly thin, as is the nature of this type of polish, but not troublesome and about what you'd expect in a topper. I didn't have any issues with flooding my cuticles though. Three coats and no top coat.

Today I have a real treat - a preview of an upcoming addition to Ninja Polish's Spectrum Collection. (This is the collection that brought you Glamorous - see my post on that one here.) This one is called Passion Shift.

Passion Shift is a color-shifting linear holo. Purple, blue, linear and ONE COAT! Formula was perfection in one coat and that's all I used for the photos. No top coat. No issues to report at all with formula or application.

Indigo Bananas Pan - Swatches and Review

Good morning! I'm torn today. I'm showing you a gorgeous polish but it's the last of the three Indigo Bananas I have for you for now. Pan.

First, here's what the Andrea, the genius behind Indigo Bananas, had to say about Pan:

"O goat-foot God of Arcady!
This modern world is grey and old,
And what remains to us of thee?"
- Oscar Wilde

Pan is a golden-green / olive duochrome with scattered holographic glitter, shifting a true green, and green-blue at sharp angles. Opaque in three coats.

Base color: olive
Shifts: olive / green-gold / green-blue
Finish: duochrome foil with holographic glitter
Roughness: very slightly gritty
# coats: three solo, or one as top coat
Top Coat: recommended
Size: 15ml
Vegan & cruelty free, 3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free)

Pan went on smoothly and I've used three light coats for the photos with no top coat. No issues to report with formula or application. This one is more a duo-chrome than the multi-chromes I've shown you in Anansi and Wednesday but this one has scattered holographic glitter.

What do you think of this one? I did apply a top coat later but the texture and look of it without was probably my favorite.

Indigo Bananas polishes are available at their Etsy shop here and be sure and "like" their Facebook page and visit the website here to stay up-to-date on news and announcements! Full-sized bottles retail for $10 and minis for $4.50.

And a gratuitous doggie pic, just because...

Above the Curve Fallen Angel - Swatches and Review

Good afternoon! I'm a little late with this post, but illness Chez Sheila decided to stay on a bit longer and attack my stomach. I'm SO ready to kick it to the curb!

Today I have another gorgeous "angel" polish from Above the Curve Nail Polish to show you. This one is Fallen Angel. (If you missed Risen Angel, click here - it's so stunning and so far in the lead for my favorite polish of 2013.)

The best part? This husband and wife team donate $1 from every bottle of polish Above the Curve sells to The Shriner's Hospital for Children.

Fallen Angel is a holographic polish with pink/purple/blue color shifting shimmer in a black base. This one is "chunkier" in appearance than Risen Angel, even though it has a smooth finish, because of the duo-chrome probably. Application was smooth and easy and the formula was great. I used 2 medium coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos.

I know there are a LOT of photos, but I really wanted to try and show this one off how it looks in various lighting situations. It can look black, charcoal, blue, purple...tons of personality!

What do you think of this one? I've tried 2 from the Fallen Angel Collection so far and I can't wait to try the rest!

Above the Curve polishes are available on their Big Cartel shop here and their Etsy shop here. You can also follow them on Facebook here to stay up-to-date on availability, new collections, promos, etc. Don't forget that $1 of every bottle sold goes to Shriner's Hospital for Children! Full-sized bottles retail for $9.00.

GlitterDaze Sunset in the City Collection 2012

Happy Friday! I have a very special treat for you today! GlitterDaze has a brand new collection set to debut Monday, December 17, 2012 and I have swatches!

The new collection from GlitterDaze is called Sunset in the City and is a set of 5 multi-chrome, scattered holo polishes.

These are all described as duo-chrome holo polishes but I think some of them are actually multi-chromes because I could definitely see more than 2 color shifts in some of them. I was able to capture it in some of the photos but not like I wanted. They're all layering polishes or toppers. Layered over dark colors, they really POP. I kept waiting for a sunny day here in South Texas to get the photos, but it actually RAINED again today. Not complaining, but even in overcast lighting, you can see how stunning these are.

First up, here they are (one coat) layered over a plain black creme...

Nightfall in New York City, Sundown in Seattle and Twilight in Tucson

So of course I had to do some different layering combinations with each one, although you really can't beat them layered over black. The holo is a scattered holo and it's in all five as well. The formula is the same on all five. Easy and smooth and can be worn with or without a top coat. The photos below are all with NO top coat and they are perfectly smooth to the touch and easily removable. No issues to report at all.
