*SWEEPSTAKES ENDED*
CONGRATS DEBBIE S.

a England
Excalibur Renaissance and Hurt No Living Thing

Continued after the jump...

Excalibur Renaissance is a re-release of the original Excalibur, which I don't have to compare for you but I don't think it's changed other than it's BACK! This one is a shiny, silver metallic - like the blade of Excalibur, I imagine! The formula was smooth and easy and I have no issues to report. I used 2 light coats and no top coat for these photos. I didn't find this one streaky or brush-strokey at all as I was applying or wearing, but the unforgiving nature of close-up photos do show some brush strokes. Until I saw these photos cropped, I didn't notice myself.

Hurt No Living Thing is the latest addition to the Heavenly Quotes Collection and it's a sheer topper full of color-shifting shimmer. This reads mainly as a violet shimmer topper, but I've included a blurred out photo to show that it does color-shift and the macros will show violet, gold, blue and green shimmer as well. It's stunning! I've layered it over a-England Guinevere and Elaine, with a quick photo of it over black at the end. One coat with no top coat for the photos.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? I don't wear a lot of silver but now and then you need a really great one and Excalibur Renaissance fits the bill for me. I'm sure it will stamp well also and be great for nail art. As for Hurt No Living Thing, it just transforms almost any polish into something ethereal and extra-special.

Thanks to Royal Mail (BAH!) the US can't order directly from a-England anymore but thankfully there are great stocklists in the US who carry them. You can have a look at the a-England Stocklist page for e-tailers in your country/area, including LlaroweOverall Beauty and Mei Mei's Signatures. I received these from Llarowe for review.

  4. I just learned a really cool trick to remove the brush strokes left by polishes like Excalibur Renaissance, so I thought I'd share. All you have to do is apply a matte top coat before your shiny top coat. It seems to really work! :)

  6. Ooh, love that topper! I've so far resisted getting any A-England but that one is definitely making me feel weaker.

  7. Thanks for the giveaway! I was originally going to buy Hurt No Living Thing, but decided not to since I normally am not huge on layering polishes, but you make it look gorgeous.
