Darling Diva Polish - Holiday Collection

Good Morning! Anyone ready to get started on Christmas yet? Today I have 3 of the 12 new Darling Diva Holiday Collection - A Christmas Story - to show you.

I'd thought pretty much everyone on the planet had seen this movie, but I did an informal poll just last week in one of my Facebook groups and I was shocked to see how many haven't seen it! Mostly it was people not from the US, but there were also quite a few here in the US who hadn't. If you are one of those people, seriously - go watch it NOW. If you don't have online access to it, I am sure there will be 24 hours of it on TBS, just like every year. Even if you don't think you will like it, watch it for the cult classic quotes alone! Those cult classic quotes are what these polishes are named after.I don't know the names of all 12 yet, but among them are Frah-zhee-lay, Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra, Sheer Poetry, Soap...Poisoning, and the three I have for you: A Christmas Story, You'll Shoot Your Eye Out and Electric Sex.

First up, the title polish of the collection, A Christmas Story. I must say this is the most Christmasy-looking polish I've seen in any collection this year or last year! When you see this, you can't see anything BUT Christmas and it's just gorgeous with the perfect amount of red and green glitters. Two coats with ZERO application issues. Perfection. I layered this one over a burgundy creme, Nails Inc. Hampton Court and used one coat of Gelous to make it smooth to the touch.

Next up is You'll Shoot Your Eye Out. I love this name so much! (That's all poor lil Ralphie heard the whole Christmas season - from everyone - when he stated that all he wanted was an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle - and it had a compass in the stock!) This one is a clear base full of the most interesting glitter pieces I've ever seen. Some are HUGE! Some are clear, opalescent, translucent, sheer yellow, sheer pink, matte white, blue holo...so many. Be sure and check out the bottle shot at the end. Amazing. Because of the extra large glitters, you have to take a little extra care when applying this one. It's not a swipe and go glitter for sure. I have small nails and I had to be careful of placements, etc. None of them curl at all and I had no issues with them lying flat, but my nails are arched so you'll notice I didn't get the pinky just right. But for the uniqueness of this polish, I was more than willing to take the little bit of extra time to apply this one. It won't be for everyone though. I applied this one over a dark navy creme, Nails Inc. Great George Street. Caveat: you will see bubbles, especially in the closeup. This is the Gelous NOT the polish. Once it dried completely, I didn't notice any bubbles.

And finally, Electric Sex. The famous Leg Lamp - glowed in the window like "electric sex." This polish also has a smouldering sexy vibe. It's a blackened sheer jelly base with gold holo hex and bar glitters, among other goodies. The glitters are more sparse in this one than the other two I've shown you and I am glad because I chose to layer it over butter LONDON Wallis and it really lets the jelly base and glitter pieces pop. Two coats over the base color and one coat of Gelous for all photos. On the index finger I layered on 3 coats of Electric Sex and as you can see in a couple of the photos, it deepens the black jelly base. I liked the base color showing through so I only used two coats on the other fingers.
