Layla Mirror Effect 06 Red Hot - Swatches and Review

Today I have one of the Layla Mirror Effect polishes to show you.

Layla Mirror Effect #06 Red Hot is a dark pink/mauve chrome polish. It comes with its own file to buff the ridges from your nails before application, but if you've been reading long, I HATE to file or buff my nails, so I didn't use it. I had no trouble at all with application - smooth and easy. I used only one coat and the photos below are with and without top coat, but when I went in to resize the photos, I'll be darned if I can tell which are with top coat and which are without top coat. This is actually a really pretty polish and I quite liked it, but I guess I keep expecting the "mirror" polishes to look like actual chrome or like the minx stuff that was so popular in the last year or two. It's just not. But for a one coat polish, it does sort of rock.

  1. I can't really decide what I think of it. It's kinda cool but also... kinda boring... you know what I mean? it's so pretty, especially in your pictures, but not the type of mani that would make me stare at my nails all day...

Anyway, I would probably use them for stamping ;-)

And I do love this shade though!!

  3. Very pretty look, especially the color, but honestly can't decide if it would be worth the $15 price tag. . . .
