What I'm Loving

These are hands down the BEST eye liner pencils I've EVER tried in my life. Granted my experiences with eye liner pencils has previously been limited to drugstore brands, but still! Huge shout-out to Phyrra, who is the reason I took the plunge.

I got 2 samples of this last time I was at the Chanel counter. This stuff is $165 a jar but after using it for nearly 2 weeks now, it just might have convinced me to take the plunge. I guess I figure at my age, I've earned the right to spend $165 on a jar of cream. It's very thick and creamy and smooth and I actually think I do notice minor changes!

Favorite manis this week...

This was a skittles mani of 5 of the upcoming polishes from The Polish Bar. I believe these will be releasing the first week of October.

And what I'm NOT loving...

*Michael Kors.

I don't know WHY but I'm really seeing a TON more Kors stuff lately...in person, in-store, in magazines, etc. Has the man ever had a unique thought or design of his own? Based on his "personality" on Project Runway, you'd think he'd be one of the "premiere designers" who had the right to judge. Just show me ONE ORIGINAL design of your own Michael! Just ONE that you haven't copied from Hermes, Celine, LV, etc.

*Mixing crazy patterns.

I guess I just don't have "the knack" for it.

Good morning! We're half-way through the work week and I have a collection to show you that is sure to offer a much-needed pick-me-up! The Polish Bar Summer Holo Jellies Collection. Plus my first attempt at a color block mani!

The Polish Bar Summer Holo Jellies Collection 2013

This collection consists of 5 new, bright jellies with a subtle scattered holo: Electric Violet, Shocking Pink, Cobalt Blue, Very Fuchsia and Orange Crush. The names explain the colors perfectly and they all had the same formula and application. They each have a subtle scattered holo and are all true jellies. I've used 4 coats of each one, shown with and without top coat, with no issues at all. They build up to a great wax sort of finish on their own and really shine with top coat. On shorties, I think 3 coats would work great.

Good morning! I have a treat for you this morning because I have the Spring Collection 2013 from The Polish Bar to show you!

A little about formula and application...I used 2 medium coats of all 6 of these for opacity. No issues at all with formula. Application was easy and perfect with all the glitter pieces spreading nicely on the nail and lying perfectly flat. I used one generous coat of Poshe top coat for all photos.

DAYDREAM - This is a pink base with a mix of various sizes of fuchsia, blue and purple hexes and gold micro-glitter pieces.

What do you think of these six new spring polishes? Which is your favorite? For me In Full Bloom wins hands down because there's not even a remote chance I wouldn't fall madly in love with purple and green together. It's my favorite color combo for everything!
