Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer: Far From the Sun for Summer 2014 - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

I'm baaaaack! I've had a weekend off and I'm both sorry for not posting and not sorry because I kinda needed it to re-energize. But I'm back with a BANG because I have a brand-spanking new collection for Summer to show you from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer.

These polishes will make their debut July 20, 2014 AT 3:30 EDT!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer
Far From the Sun Collection
for Summer 2014

There are 8 new polishes in the collection...

Top L-R: Born of the Sea, Chlorine Light, Dawn Breaks & Fare the Wind
Bottom L-R: If You're a Seascape, Intersecting Lines in the Sand,
Ocean Warmed by the Sun & Sail Her Don't Sink Her

Continued after the jump...

Out of these 8, seven of them had the same great formula...smooth and easy and opaque in 2 light coats. They're a smidge thicker than her previous polishes I've tried and I LOVED them even more for it. They're not thick at all, just not as thin as before. The 8th one is a texture and is even thicker because it's a micro-glitter/texture! I have photos of that one with and without top coat. I used two coats with no top coat on all the other 7 and there were zero issues.

Born of the Sea is a medium cool-toned green linear holo with pink and teal shimmers. No issues to report. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chlorine Light is a bright blue linear holo with rainbow micro-flakes and an ever-so-slight metallic look to the finish. I've used two coats with no top coat for the photos.

Oh and you can't see the flakes in this one very well when the holo is taking center stage so I grabbed a quick shot in the shade to show you...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dawn Breaks is a red linear holo with gold and violet shimmers. The red base leans warm but the violet in the linear arc cools it off, making it wearable on both warm and cool skin tones I think. No issues to report. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fare the Wind is a blue-leanine purple linear holo with a blue to purple shift and a slight metallic finish. No issues to report. I used two coats and no top coat for the photos.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If You're a Seascape is a red-leaning coral linear holo with a pink to gold shift. No issues to report. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Intersecting Lines in the Sand is a yellow-gold linear holo with green undertones and a blue to purple pink shift. No issues to report. Two coats with no top coat for the photos.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ocean Warmed by the Sun is a light-to-medium aqua/teal holo with a sea-green flash. No issues to report. I've used two coats and no top coat for the photos.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sail Her, Don't Sink Her is a red micro-glitter texture polish. Actually I believe it's a clear-base with loads of pink, purple, red, gold and orange micro-glitter. This can be worn with or without top coat. I have photos of both. Two coats.

I wasn't able to get pics of Sail Her Don't Sink Her like I wanted but Ehmkay Nails has FAB swatches of it! Head over and check them out!

Wow. Well, what do you think? I loved ALL of them, but I guess if I had to pick a favorite...I still end up with a two-way tie: Dawn Breaks and Chlorine Light. What are your favorites?
