Dandy Nails Flamingo Kisses

Tonight I have a very special polish to show you from Dandy Nails. It is inspired by Victoria Soto, a brave teacher lost in the Sandy Hook tragedy. Sandy from Dandy Nails found out that Victoria loved collecting flamingos of all sizes, so she made this gorgeous polish to honor her and her bravery. And the best part - 100% of the profits of this polish will go to the Victoria L. Soto Memorial Fund for Education. 

Dandy Nails Flamingo Kisses

Flamingo Kisses is a soft cool-toned pink base full of multi-colored flecks. I used three coats and one coat of Poshe top coat. People with shorter nails will find that two coats is plenty, though. No issues at all. Perfect formula.

Above the Curve - Aurora and Kahuna

Happy Monday! Today I have two new polishes from Above the Curve to show you!

The best part? This husband and wife team donate $1 from every bottle of polish Above the Curve sells to The Shriner's Hospital for Children.

Aurora is a purple holographic polish and part of Above the Curve Nail Polish's Fallen Angel Collection to show you.  (If you missed Risen Angel, click here - it's so stunning and so far in the lead for my favorite polish of 2013 and you can see Fallen Angel here.) I used three light coats of this one with no top coat for the photos. No issues to report.

Kahuna is part of an upcoming Hawaii/Surf Collection and is a teal holographic polish. I used three light coats of this one with no top coat for the photos. I had no issues and it applied much like the others in the collection, although as I said I used 3 coats instead of the 2 coats for Fallen Angel and Risen Angel. No issues to report.

Good evening! Tonight I have a polish from Maya Cosmetics to show you: For Michelle.

For the inspiration behind this polish and the Michelle who inspired it, please go to Maya's blog post and read about it - I was very touched.

For Michelle is a creamy deep terra cotta red with pink and silver microshimmer. Application and formula were both good. I suggest two thin coats without any over-manipulation. But the formula is very creamy and smooth. I used two medium coats for the photos and one coat of Poshe top coat.

I really love this one. I'm a cool-leaning neutral skin tone and while this one is warm, I think the shimmer makes it wearable for both warm-toned and cool-toned skin types.

SoFlaJo Watch Over Me - Sandy Hook Donation Polish

Good Evening! Tonight, instead of a Thrifty Thursday post, I have a fantastic polish for a wonderful cause. SoFlaJo has created Watch Over Me specifically for donations to the Newtown Animal Center in memory of Catherine Hubbard. Catherine was the lovely little red-headed six year old who loved animals - such sweet innocence tragically taken from the world way too soon in the Sandy Hook shooting. She dreamed of opening her own animal shelter and her parents have asked for donations to be made in her memory to The Newtown Animal Center.

This polish will only be sold in full-sized bottles on soflajo.com and in SoFlaJo's Etsy shop and 100% of the profits will be donated to the Newtown Animal Center in memory of Catherine.

Watch Over Me is a warm olive green polish with a golden glow that is full of shimmery goodness. Application was great and the formula was smooth and flowed easily. I used two coats and no top coat for the photos. Shown in natural light and artificial light.
