Maya Cosmetics Sprummer Collection 2014

*These products are Cruelty Free

Today I have 4 of Maya Cosmetics' Sprummer 2014 Collection to show you.  As you can see I swatched these with shorties.  Sometimes I don't know what happens to my brain. I loved them and set them aside in my "done" pile to be put away. And then I never showed them to you! So I apologize for the delay. Her shop is closed at the moment but she should be back up soon and I'll put the links in at the end.

Maya Cosmetics - Lovely

Good evening. Tonight I have another polish from Maya Cosmetics. Lovely.

Lovely is described by the maker as a soft sage green with purple/pink shimmer. I love the finish it dries to and the shimmer. I did have a tad bit more trouble with application on this one than I have on the others. Nothing too troublesome, but the trick will be to do 2 thin coats and let it dry between coats. No top coat for the photos except the last macro shot as indicated in the photo caption.

What do you think of this one? That shimmer is pretty special. Of course I prefer it without top coat because this is the type of finish I prefer. But you can see in the last photo how it looks with a top coat.

Maya Cosmetics - Turbo Classy

I'm telling you - when Maya gets it right, it's darned near perfection in a bottle. The one I have to show you today is one of those for sure. The formula and application is perfect. And those of you who know me know I love these types of shades.

So...it's called Turbo Classy and I think that's a great name for it. Turbo Classy is described by the maker as a nude with silver shimmer and brown-to-pink micro flakes. Spot-on. As I said, the formula and application were perfect and it dries to a great semi-gloss finish. I prefer this finish but for a super high shine, you can add a top coat. For the photos, I didn't use a top coat so you could see it in all its glory. I used two light coats, but if you used one medium coat, it's a one-coater.

What do you think of this one? It's a very classy and understated color and if you apply a medium coat it can be a one-coater! What prompts me to rave about formula and application is if I can do my nails in less than 5 minutes out the door with no clean up. This one fits the bill.

Maya Cosmetics Demure - Swatches and Review

Good evening! I have another Maya Cosmetics polish to show you this evening - Demure.

Demure is a perfect name - it's a lovely sheer, warm peach polish with a peachy-copper shimmer and it has a jelly or maybe more crelly (jelly/creme hybrid) finish. It was sheer so I've layered it over a similar opaque base color for the photos (Illamasqua Purity) although I do think it could be worn on its own in 3 to 4 coats. I had no issues with formula or application.

Maya Cosmetics Vintage - Swatches and Review

Good morning! I have another creation from Maya Cosmetics for you this morning - Vintage!

Vintage is described as a faded plum with a subtle holo shimmer. This one is a one-coater, which wins bonus points in my book right away. Here I have one coat of Vintage with no top coat for the photos. I also love that it doesn't dry to a super high gloss. I had no issues with formula or application - just perfection.

What do you think about this one? I love that it's so opaque and the subtle holo is just gorgeous. This is one of my favorite Maya Cosmetics' polishes.

Maya Cosmetics Imagine - Swatches and Review

This evening I have another pretty Maya Cosmetics polish for you - Imagine. This is how Maya Cosmetics' polishes will look from now on - with the tag that has all of Maya's information and the ingredients.

Maya Cosmetics Imagine

Imagine is iridescent and white micro glitter and pastel satin glitters in a sheer white base...I see yellow, purple, green, pink and aqua! I used two coats over a light coat of plain white to cover my stained nails but it can be used alone in probably 2 coats for shorter nails and 3 for longer nails to cover the nail line. I didn't have any issues with application and all the glitters spread nicely and laid flat. One generous coat of Poshe top coat and it was like glass.

Maya Silver Lining and a Comparison with Illamasqua Raindrops

Good morning! This morning I have another gorgeous Maya Cosmetics polish to show you - Silver Lining. And because I've already been asked a few times, I'm including a comparison with Illamasqua Raindrops at the end.

First, Maya Cosmetics Silver Lining. This polish is a blue-based grey shimmer with silver shimmer and blue, purple and pink micro-flakes. I used two coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos. No issues at all with formula or application.

And now, how does Silver Lining compare to Illamasqua Raindrops? Well, they're not dupes for one thing. Silver Lining has more blue in the base, which actually makes it work better with my skin-tone. Silver Lining is more opaque. It needs only 2 coats while Raindrops, alone, requires 3 to 4 coats for opacity.  Raindrops doesn't seem to have the shimmer and the micro-flakes are more sparse and a tad larger. The first two photos show 3 heavy coats of Raindrops alone and the third photo shows 2 coats of Raindrops over Zoya Dove as a base. Two coats and no top coat for the Silver Lining.

So what do you think of Maya's Silver Lining? Are you satisfied that it's not a dupe of Raindrops? Do you prefer it over Raindrops? Me? I actually prefer the Maya over Raindrops for 2 reasons: 1) opacity in 2 easy coats and 2) the touch more blue in the base makes it more wearable with my pale skin.
