I'm baaaaaack! I never considered how difficult it would be to polish your nails with a dislocated shoulder! But I'm coming back with a great Duo, though.

Tonight I have the Literary Lacquers Gloss48 Duo: Catherine and Heathcliff. Gloss48 held a "Show Us Your Indies" contest, and the winner, Amanda, had the opportunity to work with Amy from Literary Lacquers to create this new duo inspired by Wuthering Heights.

Let me just tell you right now that Wuthering Heights is one of the first movies I remember seeing and falling in love with. I thought Merle Oberon must be one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen and Laurence Olivier was so brooding and handsome. There's one scene I've never forgotten: "Goodbye, my wild, sweet Cathy" and "he's with her, they've only just begun to live" as Heathcliff and Cathy strolled hand-in-hand across the Moors.

And then I read the book.

Um, I would ALWAYS recommend if you plan on seeing the movie, never read the book first. I accidentally did Wuthering Heights in the right order. The book was SO much more. More detailed. More involved. Darker. And the ending was SO different! I loved the movie and I know I wouldn't have if I'd read the book first. And as I read the book, I pictured Geraldine Page, Donald Crisp, Larry and Merle. This is the movie that made me fall in love with movies and the book that made me fall in love with literature. So naturally I couldn't be MORE excited to be reviewing this Duo.

There are 6 holographic "metal" shades and 2 clear-based glitter toppers in the collection. Not too long ago, I said metals were "out" and to be honest, I was thankful. Never did I envision linear holo metals. When something quits working, what do you do? Discard it? NO, you find a creative person who can re-invent them. And reinvent them she did!

The only unfortunate thing about these polishes is that their beauty is impossible to fully convey in photographs. You must see them in person to fully appreciate them. But I'm giving it a shot.

The DandyGraphics Collection is a great 5-polish collection of outstanding holo goodness. They all 5 had great formula and application - two coats for opacity. And they look great with or without a top coat. Of course I prefer them without as usual. I also think these would be great for stamping, but I haven't tried yet. All photos are with two coats and no top coat.

Today I have one of the new Elevation Polishes for the June re-stock to show you from the upcoming Mongolia Collection - Gobi! (*Available in the JUNE 2013 re-stock*)

Elevation Polish Gobi - The Mongolia Collection June 2013

Gobi is part of the upcoming Mongolia Collection and it's a color-shifting holographic sand color. The formula is smooth and easy and application was a dream. I used two coats of this one and one light coat of Poshe top coat for the photos. The Gobi Desert in Mongolia has nothing on this baby.
