HPB Presents: Holiday Nail Art! - Pretty Packages

Some Press Samples
were used in this nail art

Happy Friday! This month the bloggers of Hobby Polish Bloggers (HPB) are getting together to show you our holiday/festive/winter manicures!

And I have yet another Christmas-themed mani for you! This one is a framed gradient with bows for some pretty Christmas packages!

For this mani I started with a simple gradient. The base is Zoya Hunter with Zoya Tilda and a plain white creme for the gradient.

I followed by framing the nails with Chanel Dragon...

I then added simple bows on the middle and ring fingers for the finished mani!

Be sure to check out the other great manis from the bloggers in Hobby Polish Bloggers in the links below!

*Zoya Tilda and Hunter were Press Samples
*All other polishes used were purchased by me

Christmas Nail Art Ideas

Nothing to Disclose

Happy Holidays!

I haven't done a lot of Christmas/Winter nail art in the past. Don't know why, just never really could get "in the spirit" in time to do much. But that's changing this year!

I have a Christmas Plaid design for you today along with a sort of "round-up" of the few Christmas Nails I've done in the past.

For today, though...

The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland: Day 5 - Holiday Sweater Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

Hi guys! It's sadly the last day in Digit-al Dozen Week. This month, the theme was Winter Wonderland. It's no secret I miss the seasons. All of them. Yes, even including Winter. Here in South Texas, we don't get to see all 4 seasons often and Winter is almost never. So I'm sad to see this week end.

So for the last day, I have a couple examples of some not-so-great stamping. I swear I don't understand what I do wrong! And a Gift Wrap mani that didn't make the cut.

I started with a base of Chanel Rouge Rubis and added free-handed "cable knit" lines with white. Then I used a sheer franken I made by putting a couple of drops of red in a 3/4ths empty bottle of top coat. Followed with stamping. I used BM-318 for the snowman and BM-323 for the snowflakes. I filled in the snowman features with a small brush and dotting tool using acrylic paint.

And the one that got scrapped is another messy stamping attempt. I can't seem to get a clear image AND I smeared it.

For this one I started with a base of Kiko 335, then stamped with BM-323 and B17 (which I think is a knockoff of Konad M20) in Konad White  in layers for a "jelly stampwich" - topped off with Nfu-Oh JS27

Here's the Gift Wrap Mani that didn't quite make it. I just didn't really like it - seemed too messy.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland: Day 3 - Winter's Chill Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

Hi guys! Back with Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen Week again! This month, the theme is Winter Wonderland.

I've a confession to make with this one. I did the entire thing upside down. Leave it to me! I mean most of my stuff leans more toward to the abstract than realism anyway so I guess it doesn't make a lot of difference, but when I did the gradient, I had the intention of doing the bird and the branches the other way 'round so the gradient would be the "sky." And within a span of what? Five minutes? I totally forgot. So Chilly Morning? Chilly Evening? Took me a while to figure out what wasn't "quite right" about it. So I shrugged my shoulders and called it Winter's Chill.

For this manicure, I used Zoya Kirtridge, Orly Plum Noir, Nails Inc. Belgrave Place, Zoya Hunter and Emelie, black and white.

Getting a late start on some Christmas nail art, so I just did a simple free-hand Snowflake mani with a gift wrapped accent nail.

After Thanksgiving Christmas Nail Art Review

Nothing to Disclose

Thanksgiving dinner consumed and dishes done! NOW we can start Christmas! I'm pretty full and basically immobile at this point so I thought it would be fun, before I start doing Christmas Nails this year, to have a look at what I did last year. I was just venturing into "nail art" and trying my best, posting successes and failures.

We can compare and see if I've actually improved any - but that's a post for AFTER this Christmas.

Thompson Plaid - plaid always makes me think of Christmas...

Christmas Plaid and Holly...

Rudolph Nails...

Snowman Nails...

My nails will be shorter this year and I have a thin striper brush so I'm hoping for improvement!

Show me your Christmas Nails by posting them on Pointless Cafe's Facebook page between now and December 15 and I will put them all in an album and pull one winner on the 15th to receive a surprise nail mail grab bag! Very informal, open internationally, nothing required except to post a photo of your own hands/nails with a cute Christmas design. ♥
