The Lacquer Legion: Reinvention - Unconventional Shades of Valentine's Day

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty Free

I'm excited to be participating in the first Lacquer Legion challenge, put together by Chalkboard Nails Rebecca Likes NailsThe Nailasaurus, and Work/Play/PolishThis month, the theme is reinvention. If you want to participate, you can like The Lacquer Legion on Facebook and hashtag your posts on all social media with #LLreinvention. Each month there will be a different theme and hashtag.

I was pretty excited to be participating in this and had several ideas in my head when I first heard about this. And then I got busy and, in true Sheila fashion, forgot about it completely. So I didn't have time to do any of the ideas I was excited about initially. Once again, flying by the seat of my pants, I came up with this quick and easy mani that sort of reinvents the common, classic heart for Valentine's Day using unconventional colors. Yeah, I'm not much of a pink-lover.

Unconventional Shades of Valentine's Day

I used a base of Oopsie Daisies Secret Admirer, which I was already wearing, and free-handed blue hearts and stripes using a-England Tristam with a few plain white accents.

I'll tell you what, I bet for the next challenge, I prepare and set a reminder on my phone! I can't wait to see what the next theme will be because I plan on killin' it!

Be sure and type in #LLreinvention to check out all the other manis!

GOT Polish? Golden Oldie Thursday: Blue - Starring a-England and Dior!

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

I have a serious problem in that I am always looking for that NEW polish fix when I have so many lovely polishes languishing in the drawer...polish I love enough to save them from purges or the donation box. And yet I don't wear them!

So when Debbie over at The Crumpet put together the GOT Polish Challenge, I was all for it! GOT stands for Golden Oldie Thursday - we pull out a polish that's a year old or older that we haven't worn. This Thursday is BLUE so I pulled out one of my favorites that I just don't get to wear enough, a-England Tristam, and Dior Electric Blue.

a-England Tristam is my Nail of the Day

Personal Collection
*This product is Cruelty Free

I'm still swatching like mad over here! But between swatches when I have to go out into the real world, I have to put on something quick and easy because I can't go out nekkid! Today I wore a-England Tristam. And since I hadn't ever done a really proper post on it (Here's my previous post with Tristam and Lady of the Lake together and my review - although I did just go back and add photos of Tristam to that post) I thought I'd show you some quick photos.

Perfect formula. Two coats, no top coat.
