Illamasqua Fern and Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones

For the longest time Illamasqua Fern was practically unobtainable as it had been discontinued. But some "lost stock" was found in the UK by a friend and now I have my grubby paws on it! Thanks Kim!

Fern is a great vibrant, bright blue, slightly lighter than a cobalt, full of silver microglitter (or is it shimmer? flecks?) Formula and application were perfect and I had no issues. Two coats for opacity. Very smooth, creamy application. Shown in all photos with 2 coats of color and no top coat.

Many have questioned WHY Fern is blue and not green. Recently on Facebook, Illamasqua answered the question. They had an employee whose favorite color was this exact shade of blue. Her name was Fern. Mystery solved!

But she won't be needing it right now - she's all tuckered out from chasing the Frisbee and playing in her doggie pool...

After I wore it alone, I decided to extend the mani by adding Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones...

Illamasqua polishes are available from Sephora here in the US for $14.00 (limited colors) and the full line is available in various locations throughout the UK, including at Illamasqua.com, for £13.50. However, this one is discontinued. Maybe they'll bring it back?

Lynnderella polishes are only available now through the eBay seller Lynnderella-Lynnderella and most of the "current" collection polishes retail for $20.

30 Day Challenge Day Three - YELLOW

Day Three of the 30 Day Challenge of Untrieds is YELLOW. My least favorite color and the color that looks the worst on me. We are talking serious lobster hands. So I knew I wouldn't show it alone...but what to do? I'm not exactly blessed with a nail art gene.

So this is what I ended up doing...

First I tried it alone and as you can see by the photo, the application was very trying and it just didn't look right so I knew right then I'd have to cover it somehow.

So first I tried to do black and yellow checkerboard squares on the accent nail for a NYC Taxi look but that was such a fail I'm not even going to show you. Then I tried some polka dots...

Not enough...so I added some color to the dots.

It was then I knew I'd need to do something on all the nails. I started with a "reverse gradient" of polka dots and then took a striping brush and made the "grass."

Sorry guys, it was the best I can do! Thankfully the word Challenge is part of it because I certainly was challenged!

30 Day Challenge Day Two - ORANGE Starring Nails Inc. Atomic

Day 2 of the "untrieds" challenge is ORANGE! So I'm using Nails Inc. Atomic (which was one of a duo of colors Nails Inc. did for Fabulous Magazine) that I recently got from a blog sale - from one of my favorite UK ladies!

Atomic is appropriately named. It's definitely atomic orange. It's a great creme that was opaque in three coats and it dried SUPER shiny. It was fussier to apply than most Nails Inc. polishes but I LOVE IT!

Ninja Polish Color Changing Garnet - Swatches and Review

Ninja Polish just released their first three polishes. I showed you Alexandrite and Zultanite already and today I have the last one, Color Changing Garnet. It's part of their Facets line and I'm just going to let you read the description provided by Ninja Polish - she does a fantastic job of describing them!

Color changing garnet does not have a flashy, exciting name, but it can not be discounted as it is gorgeous. This gemstone shifts magnificently from a green to gold to red -- the shifting in this gemstone will keep you captivated! This polish starts off in a rich, copper red and shifts to a rich emerald green. The accent of glitters that shift with it is stunning. Ideal over black for its truest color however placing it over a dark, vampy red is truly outstanding!

I will be showing her to you over black. The application was great, just like the other two and I used one coat over a black creme with one coat of Poshe.
