GOT Polish Golden Oldie Thursday: Valentine's Day

Nothing to Disclose

I have a serious problem in that I am always looking for that NEW polish fix when I have so many lovely polishes languishing in the drawer...polish I love enough to save them from purges or the donation box. And yet I don't wear them!

So when Debbie over at The Crumpet put together the GOT Polish Challenge, I was all for it! GOT stands for Golden Oldie Thursday - we pull out a polish that's a year old or older that we haven't worn - ever, or in at least a year. This Thursday is Valentine's Day so I've pulled out Zoya Sooki and Nails Inc. Warwick Avenue. A great red and a classic ballerina pink.

Incoco First Crush - Happy Valentine's Day!

Affiliate Link
*This product is Cruelty Free

Today I have some 100% nail polish strips to show you from Incoco. This is my third time trying them (to see Tailored Fit - a great tan houndstooth design - click here and Rock Out -a blue stained glass design - click here) and I liked them well enough to purchase these myself! This time I picked First Crush for Valentine's Day.

Incoco
First Crush

These are so easy to apply - totally unlike the other sorts of strips I tried. Because these are real nail polish, they stretch and it makes it easy for my nail shape. I have a pronounced "C-Curve" and a high arch to my nail beds. Of course, this is only my second time and I think I had a much easier time this time.

These strips are 100% polish, unlike other strips and each one includes a base, color and a top coat!

First Crush is a cream colored base with lots of golden shimmer and the words He loves me. He loves me not. with hearts.

The good news is, Incoco is having a special for all their great Valentine's Day designs! $8.95!

Valentine Stripes and Hearts

Nothing to Disclose

Tonight I have another really quick mani for you - some free-handed Valentine's Day nail art with stripes and hearts.

Yeah it's a little messy, but I guess that's the beauty of free-hand. At least that's what I'm telling myself! It's actually really cute at arm's length but man these close-up shots of "nail art" are brutal!

For this mani I used a base of pure white creme (Salon Perfect Sugar Cube) and then did hearts with Wet n Wild WildShine Black Creme and a long striping brush. I used the same brush with Zoya Shelby and my violet orchid franken.

And of course, a little fun with PicMonkey. ♥

Feel free to share any V-Day manis on my Facebook page!

Valentine's Day Nails with Elevation Polish

Press Sample
*These products are Cruelty Free

I have plans for doing several Valentine's Day-themed nail art, but you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men. Actually I think it was "The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry." But I did do this one that I thought I'd show you tonight. Not the most conventional VDay mani, color-wise, but I loved it!

I started with a base of Elevation Polish Cerro Torre 2 and topped it with Elevation Polish Aguja St. Exupery, both from the new Patagonia Collection launching 2/7/2014 over at Elevation Polish.

Then I used a long striping brush with Wet n Wild WildShine Black Creme and held my tongue just right for the hearts and words.

Quick and easy over any existing mani!
