Sonoma Nail Art Here Lies Robert - Swatches and Review

Good Morning! It's FRIDAY!

Today I have one of the polishes from Sonoma Nail Art's Halloween Collection 2012 - Here Lies Robert. My first Sonoma Nail Art polish! ♥

First a little background from Michelle at Sonoma Nail Art:

Sonoma Nail Art Custom Nail Polishes are inspired by the beauty of Sonoma County, California. Just an hour north of San Francisco, Sonoma County is a paradise for wine and food lovers, and blessed with great natural habitats from rolling hills covered with oak trees, to the vast Pacific Ocean. Sonoma County is also home to many great artists and thinkers.

Here Lies Robert is part of my Halloween collection. Here Lies Robert is inspired by Sonoma County native Robert Ripley. Ripley was born in Santa Rosa and grew to fame with his very popular Believe It Or Not comic which was published in many newspapers. His fascination with the odd and strange ties in well with the spookiness of Halloween. Ripley is buried in the Oddfellows Lawn Cemetery in his hometown of Santa Rosa. Here Lies Robert is a glitter polish with black, moss, grey, and gold colored glitters. This polish is packed with color and works best as a top coat over other polishes.

This polish is loaded with enough glitter so that you can get the effect in the swatch photos with just ONE COAT. As with all glitter polishes, you will need a few layers of top coat to get a smooth finish.

Here Lies Robert is a glitter polish in a clear base - here I've layered it over butter LONDON Two Fingered Salute. One coat of glitter and one coat of Gelous for all photos. I had no issues at all with application - easy and smooth and I didn't have to dig for or "place" glitter pieces.

Ninja Polish Howling Blue Moon - Swatches and Review

Ready for more Ninja Polish Halloween polish?

This one is Howling Blue Moon - it's a blue shimmer base with silver holo crescent moons and holo glitter pieces. I used two coats for full opacity and didn't have any issues. The formula is good and it goes on easily. I got two moons randomly on my first coat and a few more on the second coat. But I'm uh...retentive? So I fished out a few more to have at least one on each nail. I used one coat of Poshe and everything laid flat on the nail, however, I would recommend two coats or maybe a coat of Gelous for a totally smooth feel because of the moons. AND...it glows in the dark!!!!!

Ninja Polish Geeks - Swatches and Review

Yes, I'm back with another of the four new Halloween polishes from Ninja Polish!

This one is called Geeks.  Geeks is a glitter polish in a clear base with black square and hex matte glitter pieces, green microglitter/shimmer, larger green shiny square glitter pieces and thin green/holo bar glitter pieces. It's packed with glittery goodness so one coat is plenty, but I will show you a photo of two coats. I've used one coat of Gelous and all the glitters laid flat. No issues to report at all.

First up here it is over light green, white, orange and black creme polishes...

Ninja Polish Corny Candy - Swatches and Review

I couldn't wait to show you one more of the 4 Ninja Polish Halloween Collection tonight.

Ninja Polish Corny Candy is a fluorescent yellow jelly with shiny orange microglitter and medium matte white squares. Application was great - I used two coats over a plain white creme and had no issues at all. And it GLOWS under black light! Par-Tay!

Ninja Polish Spooky Floam - Swatches and Review

Halloween!!! Ninja Polish just released a Halloween Collection consisting of four polishes. Tonight I have SPOOKY FLOAM!!! And guess what? It glows in the dark.

Spooky Floam is black and orange microglitters in a glow-in-the-dark base. It was easy to apply - great formula. It can be worn alone (estimate 3 to 4 coats) or layered. I layered it over the polish I was already wearing (Nails Inc. Cadogan Place - a light-to-medium mushroom) and it was perfect - I used two coats.

First up, Glow In The Dark, Bay-Bee!!

Here is it with a matte top coat...

Darling Diva Polish Slutty Pumpkin for Halloween!

I just love her names! Who wouldn't love a Slutty Pumpkin? That's actually a great name because it's a great pumpkin color with a very sexy linear holo and sexy black hex glitter pieces. I didn't have any issues with this one. The glitters came out of the bottle nicely and spread nicely on the nail. All of them laid flat and I only used one coat of Seche to make it perfectly smooth. I layered this one over Milani Brisk Orange for a base on all but the accent nail where I layered it over a plain black creme. I think the linear holo really pops over the black. This polish can definitely be worn alone and the color builds nicely in 2 to 3 coats.

What do you think of this one? Perfect for Halloween! The holo does show up quite nicely even not layered over black, I just wasn't able to get any sun...which is totally weird for South Texas. But I'm not going to complain because the rain is GLORIOUS! I'd say this polish is a "don't miss" for Autumn/Halloween.

Darling Diva polishes can be purchased through her Etsy store here and retail for $8.00 - $12.00 for a full 15 ml. This one is $12.00.  Be sure and follow her on Facebook for updates, restock information, new collection announcements, etc.

Jindie Nails Witch Way? - Limited Edition "Hellaween" Polish

It's almost October - do you have your Halloween polishes yet? Today I have another Jindie Nails polish to show you - this one from her Halloween, actually her "Hellaween" Collection: Witch Way?

I actually lied to you last night. I said of the ones I have, Purple People Pleaser was my favorite. I changed my mind when I tried this one. THIS ONE is my favorite...so far. Or it's at least tied with Purple People Pleaser.

First, Jindie Nails: All of her polishes are blended with glitter suspension lacquer base, micas, pigments and have cosmetic grade glitters. She uses only stainless steel balls. They are all 3 free: NO Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), NO Formaldehyde & NO Toluene. And cruelty free!

Now on to the polish. Witch Way? is a Limited Edition purple tinted jelly base with  black large square glitter, black medium square glitter, matte neon green small glitter and green shimmer/flake glitter. Application on this one was great - no issues and I didn't even have trouble getting the large square glitters on the nail even though the maker says you may have to fish those out. I didn't! It may also have to do with the bottle. Last night I had to fish out the large ones from the full-sized bottle of Purple People Pleaser, but I have a mini bottle of this one. The glitters all spread nicely on the nail with no dabbing and laid perfectly flat. I used two coats of Witch Way? over Zoya Malia as my base and one coat of Gelous to make it smooth to the touch.

What do you think of this one?  In real life the green glitters appear more green than gold actually and I adore green and purple together. This one is a Limited Edition, so you'd better get it quickly if you fancy it.

This polish and all of her others can be purchased at Jindie Nails' Etsy Shop and retail for $7.75 for full 15ml bottles and minis are offered for some colors for $4.75.

Also follow her on Facebook, Twitter, etc. to stay up-to-date on new polishes, promotions, swatches and other information - here are her other links:
