Orly Hot Shot - Swatches and Review

I have a quick one for you today.  Orly Hot Shot. This one is from their Summer 2008 High Voltage Collection. I have Charged Up and love it - I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet! But I skipped Live Wire and Heat Wave. Until now, I'd missed Hot Shot, but it called to me the other day in Sally Beauty Supply and I couldn't resist.

Hot Shot is a neon coral. Looks like a pink coral in the bottle but an orange coral on the nails. It's fairly sheer so I've used three coats here and later I put on a 4th coat because I really don't like VNL (visible nail line.) Application was fine, formula was good - if you don't mind a lot of coats. It's really pretty so the payoff is worth it I think.

I'm not sure what was wrong with me when I polished them...I missed part of my nail! I couldn't tell until I saw the photos. LOL!

So Orly 2008...and the companies putting out neons for summer this year (like EVERY year) are acting like they invented neon or something. *shrug*

What do you think? Do you have this one?

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  1. Oh wow!! I looked at the bottle so many times and never thought of picking it up thinking it's so pink, but I see it on you and I LOVE it!!!
I do wonder though... what do you mean missing a part of your nail? I don't see anywhere you missed :-S
Unless you refer to the side thin lines, which I almost never paint myself...
