piCture pOlish Lagoon by Fashion Polish - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Tonight I have one of the new piCture pOlish Collaboration shades to show you - Lagoon. This one is a "glitzy turquoise sea in the sun" shade made in collaboration with Sam over at Fashion Polish.

Sam's goal: the perfect turquoise, the kind that shines and flickers and is reminiscent of sparkling waters and tropical lagoons.

I think they accomplished just that! Lagoon is a gorgeous, shimmery, sparkly turquoise with small turquoise glitters and holographic sparkles. When I first saw the description, I was a little sad because I was really hoping for this shade with just the sparkle and no glitter, but they added just the perfect amount and size and rather than detract from the polish, it compliments it beautifully. No issues at all with formula or application. I did use three light coats of this one just to make sure and eliminate any VNL (visible nail line) - my nails are extra stained right now. But I think 2 regular coats would work just fine. One coat of Poshe top coat for most of the photos. (*Without top coat photos will be indicated in the photo captions.)

Pretty Serious Cosmetics - Cybernetic

*This product is Cruelty Free

Happy Saturday! Today I have another polish from Pretty Serious Cosmetics' Seriously Random Collection to show you - Cybernetic.

Cybernetic is a blackened blue purple base full of violet, blue and green micro-glitters. There are lots of swatches of this gorgeous polish alone so again, as I did with Purple Monkey Dishwasher, I've layered ONE coat over a plain black creme, which is how I always wear mine. One light coat of Poshe top coat just to protect the mani. No issues at all with formula or application.

Zoya PixieDust Fall 2013 Collection - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

Are you ready for more highly saturated textured polishes for Fall? Well Zoya has just released their Fall 2013 PixieDust Collection and they certainly fit the bill.

Within this collection of 6 new shades, there are four one-coaters! So pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice, although when there's coffee, who wants anything else?) because there are a LOT of photos.

Catherine Arley #946 - Swatches and Review

It's Sunday evening and I'm playin' with polish, of course. I'm going to show you a non-holo Catherine Arley this time. Catherine Arley is a Turkish brand and polish isn't allowed to be shipped out of Turkey anymore. So your best bet to get your hands on these at the moment is through blogs sales - or to have a friend in Bulgaria. There's a store there who sells them and will ship internationally, but I've heard horror stories about the lack of packing materials and broken polishes. So the search continues for a reliable on-line store...I will keep you posted. The holos really are AWESOME but discontinued. But this polish isn't bad.

#946 is a red jelly full of red and gold sparkle. Not sure if it's glass fleck or just micro glitter but it really screams Christmas to me. Application was okay - it's a jelly, which isn't my all-time favorite formula, but it was almost opaque in two coats. I say "almost" because once I took the photos, I noticed some more sheer patches on several of the nails. So I'm going to call this one a 3-coater even though I've only used two. I did use a coat of Poshe to finish it off.

What do you think of this one? Too much like polishes you already have? I do think it's worth it if you can grab it cheaply in a blog sale though.

Zoya Divas Collection for NYFW 2012 with Gloss Trio

This morning, I showed you the Designers Collection and now I have the Divas for you! I must admit that my finish of choice is creme, but I quite enjoyed their collection of metallics as well.

Zoya Designers and Divas Collection for NYFW 2012

Zoya Designers and Divas Collection for NYFW 2012

Zoya Gloss Trio: Paloma, Katherine and Frida

Zoya Divas: Elisa, Suri, Song, Ray, FeiFei and Daul

The first four (Elisa, Suri, Song and Ray) all had basically the same formula, smooth and easy - two coats for opacity. Actually, with medium heavy application Elisa, Suri and Song could be one-coaters, but I am a serial two-coater. The last two (FeiFei and Daul) are really something special...sort of a foil flaky metallic sparkle polish!

So let's get started!

-------------------------------------------

Elisa is an intense red with a metallic finish. Very glowy!

Suri is a bright royal purple with a metallic finish and what appears to be purple, blue and red shimmer.

Song is a bright royal blue metallic with what appears to be small blue flakes.

Ray is a forest green metallic with what looks to be a green or silver shimmer. This one actually went on more like a frost and did have a few brush strokes visible but not enough to distract from the overall look of it.

FeiFei and Daul are definitely the odd ones out in this collection and they are amazing!!!

FeiFei is really difficult to describe. It's a steel blue sparkle polish with gold, green, blue and silver flakes/shimmer and what looks to be pink/red/gold duo/multi-chrome flakes! It, like its sister Daul, goes on very sheer, but actually only needs two coats, which really surprised me.

Daul is a sparkle polish in a light purple base with gold foil flakes.

Daul is on my index and middle fingers and FeiFei is on my ring and pinky fingers...

And what do they look like layered over other polishes?  Well let's have a look...

And before I go, let's also have a look at the Glosses over the Sparkles!

What do you think of these? What are your "must haves" from this collection? I think my favorite look (so far) I've found with these is a toss up between the look of Paloma over FeiFei or FeiFei over Ray. Just AHHH-Mazing!

These are available at zoya.com  for $8.00 each or in the Divas Collection Sampler for $48.00. Be sure and "like" Zoya's Facebook page for special promotions! You can also follow them on Twitter for latest news and promos.
