Nail of the Day: Gradient Dotticure

Nothing to Disclose
*These products are Cruelty Free

Happy Hump Day! My NOTD today is an extension of my manicure yesterday..and the day before.

I started out with one of my favorite Nails Inc. polishes, Devonshire Row. The following day, I did a quick gradient over it with Nails Inc. Baker Street. And today I decided to "dot it up" a bit.

Great way to extend a mani AND practice various nail art techniques! What do you think? I practice my stamping this way too - on my existing manis. And if it doesn't work, well you were going to change it anyway, right?

Illamasqua Stance - Swatches and Review

Thanks to some of my Brit friends, who posted photos of Illamasqua Stance, I knew I had to have it. I ordered directly from their site to be shipped to me here in the US.

Illamasqua Stance

It's one of those colors that I am so drawn to - it's almost the exact color of these little wild flowers we get here in South Texas every Spring. They're just "weeds" but they're so pretty! I am enthralled with them every year and they don't last long enough. As starved as I am for beauty here in the "tropical desert" it's just the happy color that lifts my spirits. It's such a difficult color for me to describe. It's a very bright, heavily saturated pinkish violet color that reminds me of the color of raspberry sherbet.

Stance went on smoothly and evenly and I used three coats for full opacity.  It's a bit thin so I used thin coats to avoid puddling around the cuticles. I expected it to dry to a semi-matte or satin finish like I've come to expect with neon colors because it's so bright, but it actually dried to a shiny finish. Not high gloss, but almost. I still used a top coat for that extra shiny finish though.

I didn't have my camera with me when I thought to take photos of the polish with those little wild flowers so I snapped a couple of crappy cell phone pics for you.  Full sun and shade...these are actually the most color accurate of the bunch!

Available at Illamasqua's site for £13.50. Sephora also sells Illamasqua polish for $14.00 but they don't have Stance yet (as of March 23, 2012 anyway.)

What do you think? Do you like it? What would be YOUR best color description?
