I've had Dior Liquorice on my wishlist for a while, but the prices on eBay are outrageous. Thankfully, I have amazing friends! I was totally shocked that a UK friend of mine, Kim over at
The Ides of Polish Blog, actually tracked it down and sent it to me for my birthday! Along with a generous supply of Maoam Candy!

Naturally I couldn't wait to put on
Dior Liquorice! Typical Dior formula - perfection. Two coats for opacity - no top coat. It has the older brush - still wider, flat and cut well, but not tapered at the end. I actually prefer the older, still flat brush.

And I was asked several times how it compares to Dior Shadow (
previously reviewed here as part of my Les Violets Hypnotiques review,) so I snapped a few comparison shots...

My birthday isn't until next Tuesday and already I've had the most wonderful birthday month ever!
So what do you think? If you've been after Liquorice, do you think Shadow will fill the hole?
