Thrifty Thursday! Revlon Royal Cloak Swatches and Review

Have really been neglecting Thrifty Thursdays lately! So tonight I have a $5.99 polish for you - or $2.99 if you hit a great sale, which I hear are quite frequent - Revlon Royal Cloak.

Revlon Royal Cloak is a medium-to-dark, dusty, cool-toned purple with silver (and possibly multi-colored or holo - see last photo) shimmer and clear matte flakes. It's really unique in my collection, which is full of purples. The formula/finish is also unique in my collection, which is even more rare, since I am a bit of a polish hoarder. The first coat looks like it's going to be horrible but the second coat magically transforms it to opaque perfection. Very impressed. No issues to report. Photos shown are with 2 coats of color and no top coat. The first photo is the actual color of the polish in most lighting.

See the multi-color goings-on toward the top?

I think this might be my favorite of all the Revlon polishes I have. And I have quite a few since their formula really is very good. I've said it before, but Revlon has really stepped up their game - color-wise and formula-wise.

I picked this one up at Walgreens but it's available at several retailers...grocery stores, Ulta, Walmart, etc.

What do you think?

  8. Most of your pics make it look gray...I have this and it is totally not gray at all. I was wondering how close it is to China Glaze Grape Juice.

  9. It read grey on me in most lighting - except bright sun or fluorescent. Could be batch difference maybe? Grape Juice is definitely more purple.
