Filthy Gorgeous London Judy Baby - Swatches and Review

This evening I'm highlighting one of my all-time favorite colors - I just wish I knew what the heck to call it! Berry? Violet Plum? Violet Eggplant? Mulberry? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Filthy Gorgeous London Judy Baby is a gorgeous "violet eggplant" creme. Application was good and I achieved opacity in two coats. It dries to a high gloss and all photos are with two coats of color and no top coat. In indirect natural light, it's a bit lighter and brighter and in artificial light it's deeper, richer. I love it in ANY light.

I love green, especially olive drab/army/yucky greens, and a great grey, the perfect mushroom and a true royal purple, but this "berry" color is my favorite of any color family. What do you think? And what do YOU call this color?

Koh Colours! Seduce - Swatches and Review

Today I have another Koh to show you - Koh Colours! Seduce.

According to Koh Colours! all of their polishes are infused with topaz to give them a hard and lasting finish. Koh is a Dutch cosmetics company. Seduce, part of the Koh Colours Sexy Collection, is a really pretty purple, no wait...blue, no wait...purple! It doesn't behave like a duochrome, but I think I'm going to call it that anyway. In some light it's a gorgeous sapphire blue and in other light it's the perfect violet purple. The satiny finish lends itself well to this phenomenon, too. I don't mean it dries to a satin finish, though - it dries to a nice gloss. But the finish is a bit tricky too. It almost reminds me of a frost, but it is without the visible brush strokes. The application wasn't as easy for me as the other Koh polishes I've tried as will be evidenced in the photos. But it wasn't bad. Since it was on the thin side, I had to be careful of pooling. Thin coats is the key with this one. I used 3 very thin coats and no top coat for the photos.

These polishes are a bit harder to come by for those of us in the States, but they can be ordered directly from the Koh Colours! website if you fancy a bit of a challenge. It's certainly doable. The shipping can be a killer though. Thankfully these were obtained via a swap with a sweetheart of a nail polish addict in Europe. They retail from €14,95 to €19,95.

Nails Inc. Sloane Gardens - Swatches and Review

This afternoon I have Nails Inc. Sloane Gardens for you. It's SO HOT and miserable I dare not step a foot outside, so...

Sloane Gardens is a blue glitter polish with small and micro dark blue and light blue glitter pieces in a clear base. I estimate 3 coats for full opacity if worn alone. I've layered it over the mani I was wearing already, which was Chanel Blue Boy. I tend to layer everything, but it can definitely be worn alone. It's opaque enough that if you do wear a base, it doesn't really matter what shade it is. Application was great and I had no issues and didn't need to fish for glitter or do any manipulation. I used two coats over Chanel Blue Boy and followed with a coat of Gelous and a coat of Poshe top coat.

Nails Inc. Princes Arcade - Swatches and Review

Happy Monday! We need all the "happy" we can get on a Monday, so today I have a happy polish to show you. I took these photos about a month ago and totally forgot to post them! But it makes me happy to look at them anyway. #scatterbrained

Nails Inc. Princes Arcade is a bright fuchsia pink chunky glitter polish referred to as "nail jewellery." It's a clear base full of various sizes and shapes of fuchsia, pink and violet glitter pieces. I've done a gradient with an accent nail over Dior Black Sequins. I used two coats on the accent finger and had no application issues. It's a tad on the thick side, but typical for a chunky glitter and not a problem. I used one coat of Gelous and a top coat of Poshe to make it smooth to the touch.
