Are you ready for a Valentine's Day collection? It's almost here! And I have a real Valentine's Day "treat" for you! You'll notice that she's named this collection the V-Day Collection and I'll let you discover WHY on your own - go check out her explanation on her blog here. (*giggle*) Oh and there are still a few days left to enter her giveaway there too - in the same post.

My friend Aleta, creator of The Nail Junkie polishes, marches to the beat of her own drum and that creative tune she hears in her ear is magic. Even when she does something "expected" (such as pink for Valentine's Day) you can bet she's put her own signature on it and this collection is no different. Including the name and what it stands for.

Bouquet is a deep pink polish with purple undertones and lots of multi-colored fine glitter particles. This dried matte but you can add a top coat to really bring out the shimmer. I was totally surprised that this in a one-coater! I had no issues at all with formula or application. This is ONE coat, first matte and then with one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

Love Letter is a symbolic polish with red, white, and pink mini sheets of paper (square glitters) and lots of black ink (super teeny bar glitter and fine particle glitter) in a clear base. The glitters all came out easily and laid flat on the nail. No issues to report at all. In the bottle some of the glitters sink to the bottom but a good shake and they are well-suspended and come out of the bottle easily. I layered this one over Bouquet and followed up with one generous coat of Poshe to smooth it all out.

Cupcake is a candy sprinkled polish with red, magenta, and pink dots in a shimmery clear glitter base. I had no issues with this one either. In the bottle some of the glitters sink to the bottom but a good shake and they are well-suspended and come out of the bottle easily. Everything spread nicely on the nail and there was no digging for glitters or dabbing involved. I've layered this one over Bouquet and a medium grey (SoFlaJo Silverado) with one generous coat of Poshe to smooth it all out. Have I mentioned before that I love circle glitters?

Yes I freehanded the diagonals and once I cropped the photos, especially the close-up, I noticed that probably relying on my "naked eye" at "arm's length" isn't the best idea. LOL!

Wonder Beauty Products - 1 Dozen Heart Bouquet and Roxie Hart

Good evening. Tonight I have two more polishes from Wonder Beauty Products' Valentines Day line coming out around February 7, 2013. These two are clear-based glitters: 1 Dozen Heart Bouquet and Roxie Hart.

1 Dozen Heart Bouquet is a clear-based glitter polish with pink and red hearts, various shards and micro-glitters and red, pink and gold hexes. I had issues getting any glitter out of the bottle. It wouldn't stick to the brush at all. The bottle was clearly packed with plenty of glitter pieces and they were suspended really well, not sticking to the sides or anything but they just wouldn't adhere to the brush even though I got a lot of base out on the brush. I've been doing my own nails for 35 years and I've tried all the methods for using glitter polishes and I finally was able to scrape out enough for the mani. The red hearts and the rest of the other glitters laid perfectly flat on the nail once I got them onto the nail except for the pink hearts. They seemed about double thickness of the others and wouldn't lie flat on my arched nails. I used this one over a base of Wonder Beauty Products Blue Sterling and followed with two coats of Gelous and a coat of Poshe.

Roxie Hart is a clear-based glitter polish with black hearts, red, white and silver holo bars,silver and white, black and silver hex glitters. This one was the same as 1 Dozen Heart Bouquet as far as getting the glitters out of the bottle. They didn't want to stick to the brush at all and I really had to fish for them and drag them out. The black hearts were really thick and didn't want to lie flat on my arched nails. I layered this one over a medium grey and used 2 coats of gelous and one coat of Poshe trying to get the hearts not to stick up off of the nail. All of the other glitters laid nicely.

What do you think of these? I really liked how 1 Dozen Heart Bouquet looks. I assume that you guys are like me and would rather know the issues I had up front. I will still buy something I know has issues as long as I know ahead of time and I like the polish enough. What say you?

Wonder Beauty Products - Kismet

Tonight I have another one of Wonder Beauty Products' Valentine's Day Collection - Kismet.

Kismet is an intense bright royal blue glitter polish. It appears to be various sizes of blue hexes with some magenta shards and silver micro-glitter or shimmer. The application was good and the glitters all laid perfectly flat on the nail. I used two coats and two generous coats of Poshe to smooth it all out.

Happy Saturday! I have another new polish from Wonder Beauty Products to show you today: Let's Play Footsie, part of their new Valentine's Day Collection.

Let's Play Footsie is a pink-based glitter polish with various sized hex glitters in pink, silver and gold with silver micro-glitter. Application was good and the glitters laid perfectly flat on the nail. I used two coats with one generous coat of Poshe to smooth it all out.
