Tonight I have Sea Lore's Spring Seas Collection for you! This time Sea Lore has created 5 new "sea" themed polishes:

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection:
Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse, Popping Parrotfish,
Dancing Discus and Leaping Lyretail

I am sure you'll be seeing these on their own, but I've decided to layer them using coordinating "undies" - I've used Illamasqua bases that match.

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection:

Dancing Discus and Leaping Lyretail
with Illamasqua Cameo, Jo'Mina, Milf, Monogamous and Ruthless

As described by the maker:

Jumping Jellyfish - A cerulean blue jelly with tiny light blue glitters and blue circle glitter

Springing Seahorse - A sparkling purple iridescent base with various shades of purple glitters

Popping Parrotfish - A light mint creme with a sparkling green base and a glitter rainbow

Dancing Discus - A sheer soft peach with a shifting blue violet glow. She has various sizes of iridescent hexes, blue green squares and tiny golden glitters

Leaping Lyretail - A hot pink jelly with white squares, yellow and pink hexes and hot pink circle glitter


I used two coats of each polish and one coat of Poshe top coat for each of the polishes. No issues to report with any of them. All of the glitters came out of the bottle without fishing and applied smoothly without dabbing and laid flat on the nail.

Well, what do you think? Which is your favorite? It was actually hard for me to decide with these but I think I'm going with...nope. Can't do it. I typed and erased 4 different ones. LOL! I mean did you SEE the shimmer in  Springing Seahorse? Or the circle glitters and squish-factor in Leaping Lyretail and and and...so you see how it's hard to choose.

Sea Lore Wintry Friends Collection 2012

Can you believe it's STILL cold here in warm, sunny South Texas? It knew I was swatching the Wintry Friends Collection from Sea Lore I think! Today, I have the last three in the collection to show you.

I'm showing you the three of these in one post because I have the mini blogger samples and these three have been re-formulated and the amounts of glitter in the mini bottles re-calculated so that any the customers receive will have a formula a bit different from these. BUT I still wanted to show you the awesome colors. Just keep in mind that the formula on minis that customers receive will be less thick and will build nicely like the other in the collection I've already showed you. (Beluga Blizzard here and Snowy Seal here.) Photos are with two coats of color on each and one coat of Gelous.

Sea Lore Wintry Friends - Beluga Blizzard

Well it's 42° here in sunny South Texas - wind chill at 36°. May not seem like very cold to my northern friends but I'm COLD! Not that I'm complaining. After 100° temps for what seems like forever, it's quite welcome! As is this wintry new color from Sea Lore: Beluga Blizzard.

Sea Lore Beluga Blizzard is one of their Wintry Friends Collection and it's described as a pearl white iridescent shimmering base with various shades of snow white glitter. Perfect description. I've used two light coats of this one over a white base. I think you could probably achieve opacity or near-opacity in 3-4 coats if you wanted to wear it on its own. Application was smooth and easy and I had no issues at all. Glitters laid down nicely and spread evenly on the nail with no digging or dabbing. One coat of Poshe top coat for the photos. Sea Lore Snowy Seal - Swatches and Review

Monday, Monday, can't trust that day...kind of like Texas weather.

The 80°F South Texas weather has taken a brief vacation to make room for a "cold front" being carried in on 50mph winds. So I thought a wintry polish might be appropriate.

Sea Lore Snowy Seal is one of their Wintry Friends Collection and it's  described as a "silver shimmering base with gunmetal and crystal hexes as well as silver and white glitter." I've used one coat of Snowy Seal over the Kiko #400 grey holo I was wearing, but it's opaque on its own in two coats. I've used two coats of Poshe but it is top coat hungry so a coat of Gelous before your favorite fast-dry top coat is advised if you want it perfectly smooth to the touch when dry. Sea Lore Triton's Daughters Collection - Swatches and Review

I'm pretty excited about my post today because I have SEVEN fantastic polishes to show you. It's rare that I get an entire collection without at least one disappointment, but Jamie at Sea Lore did it! She created the Triton's Daughters Collection!

All of Sea Lore polishes are hand mixed, 3-free and cruelty-free and only use stainless steel balls. All of the glitters are tested a minimum of 2 months by themselves in base to ensure that all glitters are non bleeding and non curling. Jamie says, "We are a relatively new company, but have been in the works for quite a while. I took my time designing each and every portion of the Sea Lore line, from gift wrapping each order to the labels on each bottle, I just wanted to show each and every customer how much they mean to me! As a thank you to my customers, I am offering a free ring with every $20 purchase with your choice of Sea Lore color."

Jamie sure did hit me where my glitter preferences lie! So let's get started! First though, as to the formula - I had no issues with any of them. None were too thick or too thin and all applied easily and were made smooth with one coat of Gelous.

JUST A NOTE: NONE of these 7 polishes have any curling glitter. Any of the photos that look like any of the glitter is curling is a trick of the lighting or a "reflective curl." They all laid perfectly flat on the nail and I had no issues, curling or otherwise.


We'll just do them in alphabetical order using the creator's own descriptions...

Adella - A seahorse yellow jelly base with mint green hexes, gold glitter, and golden shimmer. I layered Adella over Catrice Khaki Perry and followed up with a coat of Gelous for a smooth finish. Application was great and I had no issues.

Sea Lore Adella - over butter LONDON Squatter just for fun

Alana - A sea anemone pink jelly polish with rose colored hexes and rose shimmer. I layered this one over Chanel Lilac Sky (middle and pinky) and Nails Inc. Chalk Farm (index and ring) to show her off and followed with a coat of Gelous. Easy application, no issues.

Andrina - Deep sea urchin purple jelly base with purple hex glitters and purple shimmer. I layered this one over Kiko 331 (Violet) and followed with a coat of Gelous. Same formula as before - easy application, no issues.

Aquata - Deep sea blue jelly base with blue shimmer and blue iridescent flakies. I layered this one over Dior Electric Blue (index and ring) and Zoya Yummy (middle and pinky) on alternating fingers and followed with a coat of Gelous. Perfect application, no issues.

Ariel - Bright turquoise jelly base with red squares, purples hexes, green glitter, and green shimmer. I layered this one over Zoya Yummy (index and ring,) Orly Charged Up (pinky) and Nails Inc. The Thames (middle) and followed with a coat of Gelous. Great application, no issues.

Arista - Deep crimson jelly polish with red holo hexes and red shimmer. I layered this one over China Glaze China Rouge on all but the ring finger. The ring finger is 3 coats of Arista on its own. One coat of Gelous over all. Great application, no issues. She even sent me a ring made with Arista!

Attina - A coral jelly polish with golden shimmer and golden iridescent flakies. I layered this one over Zoya Ginger and followed with one coat of Gelous. Perfect application, no issues.

It's really hard to pick a favorite because I really did like them all. Even Ariel, the multi-colored one! I generally don't like multi-colored glitters. I think it's because she knew exactly where to stop. I'm going to say my favorites are probably Attina, because of the yummy peach color and the flakes, and Andrina because, well...it's purple!
