Dior Trafalgar No. 657

Nothing to Disclose
*This product may NOT be Cruelty Free

Working on swatching some amazing collections for you but I thought I'd do a quick "drop and run" on this one: Dior Trafalgar # 657

Trafalgar, part of the Dior Les Rouges Collection for Fall 2013, is a red-orange crelly polish. It's quite sheer like a jelly and dries super shiny. I used FOUR coats of this and still had VNL (visible nail line) so this is one Dior, actually, that isn't for me. But the color is intense and amazing and if you love the jelly/crelly finish and don't mind VNL, I think you'll love it. Four coats and no top coat for the photos. I've used strong lighting and medium lighting so you could see the nuances of this shade.(The first photo above is the most color-accurate for most lighting situations, I think.)

The Dior Les Rouges Collection is available in stores now and each one retails for $24.00.

Illamasqua Boudicca - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Illamasqua Boudicca

Recently, while sleep-surfing (what? yes I AM going to blame it on middle-of-the-night grogginess) I ran across an Illamasqua polish I'd never seen - a Bloomingdale's Exclusive. Not sure if it will remain exclusive to Bloomies or not, but right now I think that's the only place to get it.

It's an intense red orange polish with micro-flakes! When I checked for swatches I didn't find much and what I did find made me think it might be a textured polish - difficult to work with. WRONG! I almost didn't order it! The micro-flakes appear to be pink or maybe color-shifting from pink to orange?

The photos are really quick - ONE COAT with NO top coat. The formula was smooth and easy, intensely pigmented and positively glowing. No issues to report at all.

What do you think? Did you order yet? If not, I'm recommending this one outright. I can't wait to see what it does with a top coat!

Some Illamasqua polishes are available here in the states at Sephora but this one is a Bloomingdale's exclusive, at least for now.

butter LONDON Jaffa - Swatches and Review

Personal Collection
*This product is Cruelty Free

Good morning! Today I have butter LONDON Jaffa for you.

Jaffa is a bright medium orange to red-orange crelly. (There are a couple of meanings for "jaffa" but I'll let you google those on your own. <grin>) The formula on this was good. I used 3 light coats for the photos and no top coat. Because it's a crelly, it did need that third coat and I still had just a touch of VNL (visible nail line) but I suspect on short nails, 2 coats would suffice.

What do you think of this one? It really is a bright, beautiful, saturated color that is great for summer.

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $15.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Jaffa is just one of the over 100 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.
