GOT Polish? Golden Oldie Thursday: Stripes

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

I have a serious problem in that I am always looking for that NEW polish fix when I have so many lovely polishes languishing in the drawer...polish I love enough to save them from purges or the donation box. And yet I don't wear them!

So when Debbie over at The Crumpet put together the GOT Polish Challenge, I was all for it! GOT stands for Golden Oldie Thursday - we pull out a polish that's a year old or older that we haven't worn. Meet me after the jump to see what we've done!

Continued after the jump...

Light It Up Blue Blogger Collaboration Manis for Autism Speaks

Today I'm getting a head start for the week with a BLUE mani in collaboration with my blogger friends for World Autism Awareness Day - Light It Up Blue/Autism Speaks - April 2, 2013. Click for more information on Light It Up Blue.

I used butter LONDON Sprog and Royal Navy and some plastic wrap.

First coat, butter LONDON Sprog...

Then I used butter LONDON Royal Navy - some people layer a full light coat of the second color and use the plastic wrap to "remove" some of it, letting the base color show through. I don't have much luck with that method so I put a little in a plastic paint palette and dab it on with the plastic wrap.

But...I wanted something a little more "on theme" than just the blues, so I removed the dabbing over the accent nail and replaced it with a puzzle piece stamp - BM 319

So what do you think? I think it looks like marble and is a really cute look.

butter LONDON polishes are available at various retailers and at butterlondon.com and retail for $15 per bottle.

And Jen's Nail Files on Facebook did a mani to join us!

butter LONDON Royal Navy - Looking for the PERFECT Navy Creme?

I'm a relatively new blue polish lover. There are shades of blue that just don't work for me so rather than try to sort them out, I've pretty much avoided blues for 30+ years...until recently. (Well maybe not 30+ years because I really don't remember blue nail polish in the 70s or even the 80s.) Sad, I know. And even though I've started to embrace blues, I was having the hardest time finding a really great navy blue creme to love. I found a few good blues but they all had some sort of shimmer or they were jelly or the formula was a pain.

BUT NO MORE!!!!!!  I've found it!  I'm not sure how long it's been around but I accidentally stumbled on it the other day at Ulta and it's fabulous!  butter LONDON Royal Navy! I *think* it came out in 2010, but don't hold me to that. There was no spot for it in the regular butter LONDON display and it was shoved in the back behind the rest. One lone bottle. Finally an impulse buy that worked out!!!

butter LONDON's Royal Navy has a fantastic formula that applied smoothly and easily. Two coats for full opacity and even though it's a creme and applied like a creme, it does have sort of a jelly look to the finish. Just lovely.

Can you even STAND it?

What do you think? Do you wear blue polish? Is this one you'd wear?

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $14.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Royal Navy is just one of the over 60 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.
