a-England Briarwood

Nothing to Disclose

Tonight I have the 5th polish in the Burne-Jones Dream Collection - Briarwood. To see the other four in the collection see my Burne-Jones Dream Collection post here.

Briarwood is described as a deep, vampy red scattered holo polish. While I definitely see the red undertones, this one appears more brown to me. It's a warm, coppery brown scattered holographic with red undertones to my eye.  The red definitely comes out more in artificial lighting.

I was SO excited for this new aEngland collection, Burne-Jones Dream, and my excitement was certainly warranted. This collection, the first 4 of which I have to show you now, are my favorite type of holo polishes. I generally refer to this type of holo as the "aEngland Holo" but since these ARE aEngland, I'll just say they're a "tightly scattered" creamy holo. So when my Ninja Polish package came, I did backflips. Well ok. I didn't actually do backflips. But I did them in my mind!

This collection was  inspired by a series of paintings by Edward Burne-Jones - The Legend of Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty.) You can read more about the inspiration behind these beauties and see photos of the paintings over at Lucy's Stash's blog here.

First, the formula and application on these, as you would expect from aEngland, is flawless, creamy perfection. Intense color-saturation. 'Like buttah!" Three of the 4 I have for you now were one-coaters for me (although I used 2 coats and no top coat for all of the swatches) and Fated Prince was a smidge thinner and took 2 coats. I have LOTS of photos, both indoor and outdoors so you can get a good idea of what the polishes look like in most lighting situations.
